just like to say a massive, massive, massive thanks to jimmer for rebuilding my heap of rubbish engine that blew up on me:cry:, and now is like a ferrari in comparison to what it was before:dance::D.(195bhp would you believe:x:) i would recommend him to anyone with a zed or looking at getting one. its very very rare to find someone who puts so much effort, time and care into his work. iam now the happiest zed owner :D:D jim you are a top fella mate:bow:, no doubt i will be seeing you again soon for my next hike in power :D i will be in touch

not too sure about doing them to order have to speak to the boss (my uncle) because there was so much time involved and we are extremely busy and its not really something we actually specialise in we mainly do shopfronts, curtain walling, windows ect

i do power coating for a living so that helps for a start, it would have been ££pricey££ otherwise, about £60 just for the special metallic powders (1kg each colour) then cooking up 3 times in total (1st with no paint for a better finish, incase of any left over grease etc, 2nd with the silver metallic, then 3rd for the red laquer and of course all the masking and sanding thats involved.

my finished plenum before and after, lightly smoothed over with sand paper, cooked up in oven, then a special silver paint for the undercoat, then finally a red laquer/type paint all done by my self, im so proud:dance:

some of you must of had your engines rebuilt?

just a couple of questions as im getting my engine rebuilt soon, how many miles do i run it in for? what revs to go to? what else is involved in running in an engine?

do you know whats gone on my engine though by all the tapping noise it was making?

i dont now the actual reasons im no machanic but i presume so yes

they put the car on the consult, everything was fine exept it was in safety mode ecu was reset so now out of safety mode. this was done about a month ago.

had low compression to begin with, was checked by chris at z tech, anyway, on my way to work this morning (4:45am!) and could hear a tapping noise from the engine:eek:, was nearly at work by then so took the chance to make the rest of the journey taking it very slow obviously. within a couple of mins the power rapidly got worse and the tapping got very loud!!!then the engine cut out on the A40 had to jump out and push the thing while still in motion (got to get in the gym i was f***ed) luckily a fella in a kitted up mx5 with a turbo who also has an rx7 (he knows about breaking down lol) stopped and helped me push it to safety. looks like i need a rebuild sooner than i thought? any ideas what actually is wrong by what i have described?

have not got a pics sorry, it kind of holds up the exhaust by going around it not the rubber hangers though its inbetween the rubber hangers and the cat along the pipe , sorry its hard to explain without pictures

put a japspeed cat back system on my car a while ago (sounds alot better now, ordering the decat pipe tonight cant wait! ) but when removing the old exhaust the exhaust brackets that supports the exhaust broke off just wandering where to get new ones. i looked on a few sites z centre and Z1 but no luck does anyone know were i can get these cos the exhausts making an annoying squeeking noise ever since. doing my head in! squeek squeek

Hello all Just bought my first zed and love it!!! its a uk model 1994 twin turbo automatic i absolutely love the car but i used to own a 200sx which had 260bhp and to be honest that felt alot faster i was wandering if that would seem normal my old car being faster, i dont believe the car has been serviced in a while would this help that much??
