Hi everyone, it has been a long time since i have been on here as some of you may know i had my pride and joy smashed into last july and have been battling with the insurance since. well they finally capitulated and paid me and amount(not as much as it should have but thats a whole other story) Long and the short of it is my car is unfortunately for me beyond economical repair. Hence this post, I cant post in the for sale section as my membership has lapsed but as i have been a member for a while i wondered if the Mods could give me a little license and allow this post, and i throw myself on the mercy of the moderators on this one and hope its ok, pls dont just delete my post

Right have had enough with my insurance and am gonna hit em with the cost of repairing my car. I need to know price and availability on the following pls guys dont know who is the best person to ask. Drivers door with elec mirror and door glass Passenger side as above front wing passenger side front wing drivers side upgraded side mount intercoolers as i think my drivers side one is damaged and the insurance should cough up for an uprated pair ;) also is it possible to get new rear quarters? even if its from japan or the states? need a drivers side one. also need passenger side headlight unit, and both front sidelights also need wheels and new front bumper but i can source those. would really appreciate some help as my insurance assesor has just told me off the record that if i offer to help with sourcing things then they are more likely to get their arse in gear..... i need to know who among you wonderful zed owners can assisst in getting my big blue beastie back where it belongs many thanks in advance guys and gals Liam

no, because i have never taken out this kind of insurance before, i didnt know what was involved, and the prick on the end of the phone went through all the modifications in detail, and the power increase, and came back with the 12k figure!!! Have decided to let the wheels turn and wait and see what they do before going postal!!!

just had a call from the third party assesor that came out last week. Course i told him (because i thought i did) that i have an agreed value now he wants me to fax him the agreed valuation from the insurance which of course i dont bloody well have.. gah!! it gets worse

markzx - i declared all modifications when i took out the policy and they have confirmed that they have all mods listed ;) so yeah maybe its not all gloomy... thank you nickz32 - oh i will stick with it alright, they wont wanna try it on too much. what legal advice you mean bud?

Its through his insurance atm which is why i could foresee problems.. Pj might need to talk to you bout gettin a valuation.. and i aint givin up without a fight, i will keep you all posted, thanks for your support

As some of you may know nearly 4 weeks ago i was involved in an accident in my pride and joy. No fault of my own, and in fact the third party has admitted total liability. My car is pretty smashed up, - drivers side rear wing, door, front wing, front bumper, headlight, pass side front wing, door. 2 alloys, pass window, both wing mirrors. went through all the right channels with insurance etc. assesor came out last week, personal injury stuff all done. when i took out the policy last year i went with MCE as a few people on here told me they did "agreed value" policies. so rang them, went through all that had been done to my car in the minutest detail and they came back with an agreed amount of £12,000 having some doubts this morning with the insurance takin so long so i thought i will ring my insurers and get proof of the agreed value, just in case i needed it. After waitin for 20 minutes to get through i am told they have my vehicle down as book value!!! and they have no record of the agreed value even though on my policy it says - Value of Vehicle -£12,000 and their representative called me back to tell me of the 12k that their underwriter would agree to. I am totally gutted!:cry:! i have spent in excess of 12k on my car in the 4 years of ownership and if it gets written off now i will get about 3k (if that)for it.. I am so upset and angry its hard to type this right now, the guy i just spoke to is ringing the actual insurance company (QBE) to see if anything can be done. I just dont know what to do, i dont know if they will accept a valuation now but even if they would how do i get a valuation of 12k on my zed which is atm smashed up??:cry::cry: pls if any of you have any words of wisdom let me have em cos right now i feel like the whole damn thing is too much. and pls if you think you have an agreed value policy..... CHECK IT OUT

and mark y couldnt you have kept your blue one for just a little longer ;) would have snapped your hand off for that one...

basically you are guaranteed a decent courtesy car, and they handle the whole claim for you AT NO COST TO YOU!! well worth sigining up for.. and paul you can have my car for 5 million pounds... pmsl

Update : Went to docs today, have severe side impact whiplash, and a suspected fractured cheekbone!! As i am a member of pistonheads and signed up for their accident aftercare, so at 9.30 tomorrow morning i take delivery of my courtesy car - 08 plate 2.0 litre turbo 6 speed golf GTI ;) to drive until my claim is settled... not too bad ;)

dont worry PJ i aint as daft as you look ;) they aint got a hope of getting my car

annoying thing is the engine is running sweet as and it seems to be all bodywork but with the age and speciality of our cars and the fact i am lookin at 4 major panels, 2 doors, bumper and headlights on a 18 year old car. they will prob write it off.....

Hi all very angry upset and pissed off me here. friday was on my way home, hit a stretch of dual carriageway, indicated to pass a flat bed Ducato van, got alongside him and he pulled out!:eek:! no warning no signal nothing. Then to make things worse he proceeded to carry on coming out and smashed me into the crash barrier.:shock: the pass wing mirror bust the side window and hit me in the head! and he has wrecked both rear panels, both doors, front bumper, bothe front wings, and all 4 of my alloys. Am sick to the stomach after 4 years of hard work then in 2 secs its smashed to pieces..... luckily for me i have a guaranteed value policy so if they write it off at least i get a payout and hope fully can get a new zed or similar... will post some pics when i have taken em.. cheers Liam:(:(:(
