yes it should just come out. spray carb cleaner in it and a gentle tap from your hand should start to move it.

sorry getting a little fuddled here. which one cant you remove. the iaac one should just pull out of the housing if not its gunked up with carbon hence a problem so clean it. the ficd one should come out once you undo the hexagonal section from the main body with a spanner then the needle valve can also just be pulled out and cleaned. just remember which way they come out etc as it dont work very well if assembled incorrectly LOL SEE IF THIS HELPS http://home.swipnet.se/e-solutions/IdleTech.html

yes . even if the cats were there they dont have the data to test the 300zx as a cat equipt car so a standard emmisson test is carried out meter test CO

but the value would be higher for the test as z's are tested as a non cat car ;)

think he means the cats have been removed from the pipes so the exhaust is from the manifolds back if that makes sense

i will check them to see if there are any visible signs of holes etc. any time from thursday is fine but let me check them first to make sure tere ok. even if it helps for the mot its a bonus eigh! passenger side at the back of the plenum. there is a hose leading to it from the side of the plenum. take it off. take apart carefully and use carb cleaner to clean all the bits thouroughly.

LOL i will check the exhaust out for you but it was fine when i took it off, would only be after the price of the cats at scrap value so say £30 doubt it would be the exhaust causing the problem ,would be good to get your car on a conzult or datascan. find out if there are any faults with sensors etc. it could just be the idle speed adjuster needs a good clean! keep it simple at first
