  1. I don't think this is correct edj. As I understand the law it specifies that basically if you are towing something, you should basically treat is as a trailer. i.e, your license must cover the amount of weight the thing behind the vehicle is. In the case of a 300zx, your license must allow to tow a 1580kg trailer. As whatever you are towing is considered a trailer, and your license covers that trailer, theoretically anyone could steer it (as you don't need a license to drive a trailer), they don't need a license, it doesn't need any tax or MOT... but it does need good tyres! Remember your also not allowed to tow on a tope, it has to be a bar! But edj is also correct, don't tow autos because they WILL DIE!
  2. Blocked breathers? Could be causing a high crank case pressure?
  3. yea tell me about it. I think it was 1 or 2 days since the original post that I said I'd have them. lol. They're a bunch of animals!
  4. Bought them off of a user from http://www.driftworks.com - Lots of wheels on there! Got them for £600 which wasn't super cheap, but they're exactly what I've been looking for and the guy delivered them to me. Also got 2 brand new tyres so I'm happy enough :D
  5. I run Goodyear Eagle F1's. Best tyres I have ever used, awsome grip in the dry and not found anything that touch them in the wet. Mine were about £110 fitted each for the front. 245/40/18
  6. Fronts are 8J ET30 - Currently with only 225 eagle F1's - Will be swapping my 245 eagle F1's onto em. Will also be spacing them out, thinking 10-15mm to get them tight to them arches. Will see how well they fit. Rears 9.5J ET30 - Again, only currently got 245's so will be treated with some 275's before fitting. Don't think the offset will be far off until I get my arches rolled and can push them out a little more. :D
  7. Well I've recently picked up these second hand Rota Drift GTR's in white. I love the style and always makes me think of the proper drifting machines! Not fitted them on the car yet as the car its going on currently has no engine (until hopefully nect week), so theres not much point putting them on there yet! Here they are just resting up against my current 300 (soon for sale!) Comments welcome! More pictures fitted when they're on there (or if I get impatient when theyre on this one!)
  8. Will be good to see what you think of them as I need some coilovers before too long. :)
  9. Is this the kit your looking at?? Clicky!
  10. I've had some good news, the rears are actually ET30 but they put the wrong number up, well thats what I've been led to believe anyway! And the fronts are 8.5 :D ideal.... Cheers for the advice, I thought the same that it would stick out by a mile. d'oh!
  11. I'm after a bit of advice... Im looking at some Rota GTR's which have the following dimensions: Rear: 255/35/18, et12, 18 x 9.5 Front: 225/35/18, et35, 18 x 8 Looking at other posts it looks like I might be struggling to get the rear tyres under the arches? Currently they're standard arches and the car is lowered by a small amount, maybe 30mm? As for the fronts well they're going to need some spacing out. I was hoping to swap my current tyres over as they are 275 rears and 245 fronts. Are they going to fit??
  12. I think it looks a lot better than the pancake that was on there before,
  13. Oh dear oh dear... Mine as Tenso 18's. Not sure on the width of the rim itself. Front: 245/40/18 - unknown offset Rear: 275/35/18 - et35 i believe. Car is lowered by an unknown amount. Standard arches and I get a tiny bit of rubbing on the rear through severe dips in the road. Will make a note of what they are when I get the wheels off next.
  14. Anyone got any contact details for CeeJay?
  15. Just sent him your findings to see what he can do/suggests...
  16. Was it you I spoke to in the Ovlov BigPaul? Saw 2 300's there - 1 standard LWB TT - saw it beat a 350Z with a time of 14.6 - was really cheering him on with that one! Also saw another red 300 with some lovely 5 spokes camping not far from us! I signed up first thing on Sunday and because I had been a good boy and stayed out the mud (oh so tempting) I bypassed the tyre wash line - which was HUGE!! Muwahaha! Got all 4 runs in in about an hour. First two were pants running 15 and 15.1. Decided to give it the beans off the line and got it down to a 14.7 but much like you I was spinning all the way up the strip. For some reason it was hurrendously slippy. My last run was then a 14.8 with a poor start. All in all: 300ZX 1 - 0 2.0lr turbo Scooby 300ZX 1 - 0 Saxo 300ZX 1 - 0 Capri 300ZX 1 - 0 Jumped up golf so I didn't lose, but I didn't go up against must either lol. I was only 1 place off being up against a 875HP Evo running 10's though... PHEW! lol All in all was a good weekend as the weather held off except the downpoor Saturday evening. Will be going against next year!
  17. Was a smart Red 300, not sure if it was a TT or not parked about 40m from our campsite. It had some very nice 5 spoke alloys which I was contemplating thieving :smw: Was gonna come and say hello but the owner (I presume) was asleep in it the once and didn't see anyone else around it.
  18. tie him to the car, go round the block a few times, then take him for a walk :D
  19. I believe the gasket will be around 6mm if its made of the same stuff as my B16 one.
  20. Friendly reminder that this is this weekend just in case!
  21. lol, well I guess I may get away with it as its in our interest as Z32 owners ;) hehe. Right well good news anyways. I got hold of the guy and he said he'd be happy to make some gaskets. For a normal 4 cylinder gasket (minimum of 5 off) it would be £12 each, or £10 each for 10 or more. He would need a bulk payment for the first order. I guess the price may go up slightly with it being a 6 cylinder? First thing is he would need a gasket to copy though, anyone got any lieing around?
  22. I used to have one of these fitted to my B16A1 in my civic i-VT. Not sure how much difference it made but the theory is certainly correct. It was made of machined polyurathane if I remember rightly, someone on the civic forum got them made. I can see if I can find who it was and see if they would be interested in making some for the Z32 if enough peeps are interested?
