  3. Yes i have to raise my glass to Jeff too, he did some servicing for me and has helped me over the phone on numerous occasions when i had a 300zx  Now i have a bmw 318si N reg which i would gladly swop for a 300zx Pretty please!! :D
  4. Mark, i would either connect the caddy to a windows 98 machine and format c:\ and make it bootable, or get hold of a windows 98 startup disk and copy the files across not too sure if this will work though. Tests it boots up then put it back in the caddy and copy the win 98 install files across. If you need the files for a windows 98 boot up disk let me know i can host them for you somewhere to download.
  5. Mark in general its hard to install xp from a dos prompt but here is a link on howto do it. link However failing that if i was you i would buy an external usb laptop hard disk caddy, insert the hard disk and make the c:\ drive bootable and have a win 98 installation directory on the c:\ drive too. Install 98 then xp. But thats just me, good luck.
  6. sounds like you have a good road trip planned  but be careful with the radar detector in France, as i read somewhere its illegal to have one of these on show while driving along & you could face a fine!!!

  11. At work we currently have a 2mb nildram line which we have had hardly any probs with, and next Thursday this will be running parallel with a Zen 2mb line as well. We did have Jippee but which has been bought out several times and we experienced DNS issues with them. so had to let them go  If thats any help
  12. would like to come and meet you guys, but my bumper is in the repair shop not due to be finished before Tue :-(, but will come to the first meet in the new year. :duffer: Have a good one
  13. wow hopefully should get my 2mb upgrade soon then, its a shame they wont provide a faster upload speed. Speed testing is hard to do general rules are dont have anything else running that uses the internet. Download something from a very popular site like Adobe. Some speed test programs do produce varying results so i tend not to use these.
  14. You need to get a contact in your local post office, as they can just take the parcel off the shelf if it has been stopped for tax reasons. Thats why im glad my bro works there :p
  15. Cheers, will call them monday

  17. ravi give houghtons a call again and say you are asking for a quote especially linked to the 300zx website and you are entitled to get a discount, they then put you through to a guy who sorts you out, as im only 27 3yrs no claims and got insured for 900ish fully comp all declared.
