Tyre advice
over sized tyres have a detrimental effect on handling, i would say 285 is to big for a 9.5 rim really mate

Tyre advice
Ye but 275 is the perfect size for 10" I always thought that wider tyres in the wet was less grip, but i have a car with 245/45/18 fronts and 275/35/18 rear and they grip like poo in the wet, got a right job trying to lose it.

Tyre advice
A certain wheel width requires the correct tyre size i.e 10" is 275/../.. or 9.5" should be 265/.. Offset has got to be correct for the particular car anyway. All im saying is there is really only 1 tyre size per wheel size.

Tyre advice
Regardless of offset as you need the correct offset anyway, the tyre has to fit that rim correctly, without stretching the beading or the tyre wall and having a tyre ill fitting the rim.
