  2. cheers mate got it. my first post was me trying to get hold of a workshop manual :o blimey Gworilla posted in one of the threads about Zs in Leicester. i wonder what happened to Chris.
  3. someone 'up there' likes you mate.
  4. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=91706 ;)
  5. aye, just down the road from me :hyper: trouble is Soar Valley Way (which is the dual carriageway between M1 J21/M69 and my way) gets jammed up solid during travel hours. ah well i'll have to subscribe to Cosmopolitan and take it with me
  6. noob question -> how do you view your first post cos they only go back 50 pages?
  7. after 9 months of searching for an IT job (with no previous experience) Ive landed myself an admin/technical job with Alliance & Leicester. originally it was an 8 week temporary job that's now been changed to accomodate me. im meeting my boss on Thursday where he's going to show me what permanent jobs they have should i wish to stay on. money's not brilliant but there'll be a review at the end of the temporary period. ps. if anyone wants their account hacking drop me a p.m.
  8. cholera, yellow fever, mange? did anyone see that Ripping Yarns episode The Curse of the Claw with Michael Palin as Uncle Jack?
  9. leaky targas are fairly common with Zs i should know :( another thing to check is the little drainage hole near the top of the A-pillar beneath the targa as this sometimes gets blocked up with muck. failing those, replacement rubbers are available from here for a touch over £20 the pair.
  10. so much for reading the rules :p (oops sorry Dave :nelson: )
  11. you bad bad person :D :D
  12. my thoughts too. is your filter the standard panel or is it an aftermarket cone filter? if this gets wet then you get running problems, although more similar to 4-cylinders.
  13. Happy Birthday buddy :duffer: i think your best present will be on its way shortly on a DVD featuring some gorgeous shots of Tamworth etc. :x:
  14. yeah depends what boost he's running. id say 100 horses shy of that.
  15. our speedfreak's a bit bigger and uglier than that one ( ;) )
  16. problem with the immobiliser? when you say the key wont go past ON, do you mean mechanically wont let you, or lets you but doesnt fire up?
  17. not really up my street but they were posted on another forum Science's 10 most beautiful experiments and some scary sht, playing about with an AntiProton Decellerator!
  18. ive had ZZ3s on mine for a couple of years - not had any problems, although im more of a conservative driver. lose traction under WOT in 1st though (which isnt totally a bad thing ;) ) i didnt choose the rubbers specifically, they came as an 18" alloy/tyre package fitted for £900 which i thought was quite reasonable.
  19. im filling up reading this thread mate   what a terrible thing to happen to a gorgeous Z. although it looks bad im sure when it gets down to it, it's quite repairable. and Alan you are a top bloke for offering the parts  hats off to you what happened to the tw*t that ran out in front of you :mac1: he should pay for it all out of his own pocket
  20.  a good lesson there, i'll have to try it in practice though ;)
  21. yeah Smithy does the Wiseco for £400ish. ive had the EGR bypassed already, and the clutch and flywheel are RPS/JWT and 6 months old so theyre ok. thanks for the list Ed there are one or two ( :p ) ideas on there. i'll speak to Mickey next week, he's doing the work.
  22. i'll shortly by having my engine rebuilt and my tubbies refurbed with 360 degree b/bs. im keeping standard internals, 555's with suitable chip, uprated oil pump, manual cams (my car was an auto and still has the auto cams), manual spec turbos after refurb. while this is being done i'd like to spend just a bit more on various bits and bobs. im thinking: Series 2 PTU (my S1 has been fine but you never know) Uprated sidemount intercoolers (although my bumper is blended in so my options could be limited) (possibly) Greg Dupree divorced downpipes water bypass around plenum (can someone tell me more about this) i had the option of forged pistons but tbh i really dont want to be tempted to push for big power. so, in your opinions, would a rebuilt engine be able to hold about 17psi and roughly 420bhp? and what other jobs would you have done while the engine was out?
