  3. The garage will have no say whether its written off or not, all they will do is quote for the repair work, the insurance assesor will decide its fate. Out of interest, which garage is it at, would hate to see that repaired by an insurance approved garage!! :nono: Alex B

We had a club stand on quarry corner, and this is exactly what we were afraid of, people not being bothered to walk past the 250+ subarus, I really think something needs to be done next year to limit the no. of subarus there. Alex B
  5. Thanks Legrath! :D Alex B

  13. Nope, skylines were designed to oversteer, if you drive them properly it will not understeer, they are VERY easy to rap up like that, seen it so many times! You can't turn any of the computer aids off on the '34 anyway. Thats what annoys me when people say the have so many computer aids, the only aids they have are: Power steering ABS HICAS ATTESA, diverts upto 50% power to the front wheels WHEN the rear loses traction, they behave like a big power RWD until the rear starts to slide, then the fronts grip. You can disable this on R32 GTR's by pulling the fuse, but I wouldn't recommend it!! ;) You can drift them pretty well, there are a few GTR's used in drifting competitions, I'd say they were a little more difficult than a RWD to drift well, but just as easy to spin out. If you are interested, watch the GTR DVD by Duke. Alex B
  14. Thats been going round for ages, obviously the computer aids didn't help him! I've got a feeling I read somewhere that the driver survived but could be wrong! Alex B
  15. Depends what quality the flip paint is, thats the cheapest I've heard of it being, but it's usualyy £225 for cheap copy type stuff, to £1200 for really good stuff, and you can tell a difference, the cheaper paint is blotchy and you can almost see through it, (not enough pigment), whereas the expensive paint, DuPont, (which TVR use), etc you can tell its good quality, the colour change is very clean and its a very solid looking paint. The paint on that one looks like its good quality, from the pictures at least. I still like flip painted cars when they're painted in quality paint, theres too many saxos etc that have been painted in cheap flips and have spoilt the effect. We painted a Scimitar in House Of Kolor flip, not too expensive, about £265+vat a litre, and materials alone were £2,500. Alex B
  16. It wasn't a thread about zed vs supra performance, it was probably an innocent thread about what was qicker between 300zx, GTO Supra and Skyline GTR, there is obviously history between zed owners and Supra owners, (as someone said), which is why it was turned into a zed vs Supra thread/argument. How can you answer the original question, all standard cars, top tuned cars, bhp for bhp speed, how easily tunable they are? Alex B
  17. After reading the 'whats fastest' thread, thought I'd try to find out what it was that made you decide to get a zed. (no slagging off other models though please ;) ). Alex B

These types of threads always get out of hand, the majority of people tend to think their cars are the best, until they change them then their new car is the best ever, is there really a 'best' car? I can appreciate most cars, I really like the look of the zx, they have so much road presence, I think m,ore than my GTR, but never got round to driving one so can't comment on how they drive. I also like the Supra although they are becoming quite common round here, again, the only one I've driven was 720bhp so again, can't really comment, although that was fun! I like the look of the '32 GTR, I also like the way it drives, just like a powerful rwd until you start to lose it then it turns to 4wd, you really have to drive one to understand how it works! Bit of a random waffling post, but just trying to point out that we can appreciate other peoples cars for what they are, and don't neccesarily compare them to other makes/models. Every forum I've been on has been the same, they don't seem to like 'outsiders', you always get a few. Alex B

The skyline gets its reputation for driving itself due to the intelligent 4wd system, but it really doesn't, just look at any of the skyline club sites for proof, I've heard the R34 GTR is over assisted, but my R32 GTR is as much 'fun' to drive as a rear wheel drive car, only it gives better traction off the line . I know what you mean about the interior, but it goes back to the eighties styling wise, so loads of plastice is to be expected! :( I'm not arguing about it, just pointing out my experience, I still really like the zx and one day I will have one! :D Good point about comparing different cars fron different years though. 21. What would you expect to pay for a respray in a different colour? Ie, exterior of the car, door shuts, boot and bonnet jams, excluding paint. Just interested to know. Thanks Alex B
  22. Forgot, here are a few pics from yesterday: http://www.tatsu.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1373 Hope you enjoy them. Alex B
  23. Were you the one right at the end who struggled getting up on the verge? If you were I was in the R32 GTR parked next to you Alex B
  24. Not sure for a 300zx, I've just removed it on my R32 GTR and the bar cost about £80 delivered from Japan, then took a couple of hours to fit. try http://www.greenline.jp Alex B
  25. Or you could just rip off all the Hicas! Alex B
