^^^^ Above is your post on GTOUK......I think you've got the wrong end of the stick mate, its the Z that is an engine out job to change turbo's. If all you want is a 1/4mile car, the 4WD of the GTO will surely help ;) but as i said above if all you want is a 1/4mile car and you're not bothered about looks, buy a Pulsa or an early EVO :rolleyes:

Just goes to prove the strength of the Mitsi....with just 2 cylinders it still manages to have more Torque than the Datsun and although being twice as heavy still have a higher BHP per ton, dont forget all this from a very poorly GTO running on just two cylinders :D ....What a car!!! :hyper:

Mitsubishi 3000 GT 2000 BHP = 320 0-60 = 5.0 1/4 = 13.4 term = 102...... figures taken from "QUATERMILE RIVALS" These figures have been matched at tsc4 and santa pod at 0.6 bar boost.... 1.what boost would you need to run these times at pod? 2.whats the best 1/4 anyone from these boards have run? Mark Beales has run 12.3s in his GTO tt and there should hopefully be some in the 11s this year.....

1. This did "Not" take place at santapod 2. I think Pete was running more power in his Z than the GTO 3.Traction was not a problem as it was on a very rough surface, RAF Woodbridge, (an airfield) " NOT SANTAPOD!!" oh and 4. maybe the driver's had some influence... :eek:

Homebrew, i didn't mension anything about a GTO if you re-read my post :confused: my comparison was between a GTST "SKYLINE" and a GTR "SKYLINE".....one being two wheel drive and the other all four will be used as you say, "when necessary" but i was mearly trying to point out that at santapod 4x4 has a definite advantage. :) I also appreciate that a two wheel drive should gain on a for wheel drive once it gets traction, (because of less drivetrain losses)..... but not sufficiently over a 1/4 mile IMO. cheers Martyn

You obviously haven't been to santapod then, as that is exactly what it is "slippery"..... so going on your theory then, if you had two skylines, one GTST (2 wheel drive) and a GTR (4 wheel drive) both tuned to 400 BHP, the GTST would win at "santapod".......yeah right whatever :rofl: :D Taking nothing away from Pete's victory but thats just "one" GTO.....there were other GTOs there on the day that equalled Pete's times and one beat it, so IMO it was all down to luck of the draw. :tongue: Pete, nice car by the way.. on one of the vids of your car, the speedo looks as if it goes off the clock, is your speedo still in kilometers ??? this is far outweighed by the extra grip thats achieved over the 1/4 mile let me think power though two wheels or four on the 1/4?? emm ill take four :) your Zed would look so cool with the size of tyres that they need on top fuel dragsters to get traction :D

LOL at adamR.. if it's at the pod then I don't see it being the GTO guys who get all sulky as even in the summer most of the 300s seem to struggle to get off the line :tongue: Simular power GTOs vs 300s at the pod IMO = only one outcome GTO wins :D slowest times for a GTO I've seen is in the 15s as for the 300s its nearer the 17s :p

Pete, Impressive times you got there "for an auto"...the GTO in question had problems (not holding boost) i believe, but overall the GTO boys had good results...with a best of 13.3s 1/4 mile at 0.6 bar and 333 bhp.... What boost/BHP were you running ??? Martyn
