What year is your Zed? Auto or manual? Try cleaning all electric connections, from fuel pump to rad, (has the ptu been changed to a series 2?) had a similar issue when i bought my Zed. After taking some advice from this site, i cleaned every single elec connection (inc coil packs) with contact cleaner and a fine wire brush. Been working fine ever since. Hope this helps you mate. Well i'v asked the Nissan garage, but they cant tell me at the mo, cause the mech's on hols... And he had to order the oil in specifically... Apparently. The car is still ticking away quite nicely at times... What would be the preferred choice of oil? And will engine damage occure if it stays ticking with the oil in it currently? What if the ticking does'nt go away, even after changing the oil? What else could this be a sign of? Pete

If the batt aint holding charge it prob has a dead cell. I'd replace the batt' anyway or if your really unsure, try loaning one and see if it holds charge over night ok. Hope this helps.
