  1. Hi lee, have sent BT email, I have not clicked through any of the links just in case Cheers jeff
  2. Any IT techs thoughts on the scource code of a suspicious repeat email we receive each month warning of our excess broadband use, then suggesting we click a link to a section which will monitor it for you daily, the email is well presented with logos and all of the normal footer details but something seems odd, and the last line of the scource code is a loop back address which is odd for a BT email. 3. Glad you found the heater warmer and the engine running better, not often to see thermostats to fails open so much as yours to be fair. On another note the bodywork and lighting on your zed looks really creative and one off...nice. Jeff TT

  5. Ok Lee, cannot understand why you would have any issue with emails as we have had the same two for several years ? I get it there is a system in place but with limitations, still does not address the that was recently put in place? or do I not qualify for that? just need to know. Jeff TT
  6. Okay Stella can see we have a difference of opinion, I have NEVER in nearly 10 years of membership had a sub notice and in my mind it should not happen, I cannot believe that there is not some software that can 100% handle such a small job, and as far as me posting a thread about it at least I am been proactive, maybe when it happened to you you should have questioned it more... Jeff
  7. Trouble is I have NEVER in nearly 10 years of membership had one, and many members here will agree and it should not happen, I cannot believe that there is not some software that can 100% handle such a small job. Jeff
  8. Yes Paul, I was trying to Pm you with teh same and could work it out why there was nowhere to pm...ok good to know you know we will be closed etc, see how it works out next week. Jeff
  9. Understand the subs running out but no notification a.......well over to you. Jeff
  10. Why with technology in 2013 at the very best it can be and with the advances in every possible technology been reinvented almost daily can we not have a reliable reminder when subs run out? now I been demoted to a registered member  Jeff TT
  11. You certainly did !!! Jeff TT - - - Updated - - - Was going to quote you but an apprentice or new yts kid has dropped me to a registered user?????????? Jeff

  13. Ok guys no alternative but to remain closed for the weekend, no zeds can be collected and no new ones dropped off due to the poor access onto the business park let alone the motorway system! as we have been suffering a slight amount of inclement weather today and apparently more to come later tonight!! Hopefully will be back to normal Monday. Jeff
  14. Yes everything is fixable, have changed a few front members over the years, not a nice job as it is all welded in and its a fair old strip out to get in to cut the old one out. Jeff
  15. Hate been the bad news guys but you cannot gloss over corrossion like this, new owners beware. Jeff TT
  16. It always amazes me how you can strip the insulation back on a cable connector and the wire conductor is discloured for a good length up the cable, indicator bulb loom is a classic for this. Jeff
  17. Wiring and connection issues are a well known problem that at some time will afflict all zeds in some way. The engine wiring loom has lots of low voltage signal cables that are protected from interference by the use of shielding, this is a good idea when new but can become problematic especially on looms that have been moved many times. So a case in point, the pictures below show the loom section which serves the drivers side O2 sensor connector, the larger loom splits off and leaves the O2 sensor cable ( 3 core) on its own, however over the years the cable becomes less flexible and the point where the loom splits up to the different sensors a degree of damaging flexing occurs when the engine is running. This eventually can lead to the shielding and the cable its supposed to be protecting coming into contact with each other. The pictures show the process of splicing the outer cables back to get the the problem because until this is done the problem is hidden, previous knowlege and correct fault diagnosis is essential because hacking away at the loom to find faults without knowing where the actual problem is will soon result in needing a new loom!! So back to the problem below, the engine was not happy at all, it had a heavy smell of fuel and a low level murmor, and very errant tick over, no amount of checking by other garages had identified the actual problem. Problem is, ConZult and similar systems cannot identfy the exact problem for the less experienced, but by using the information it can give and added to what it was`nt telling was the key to this. Any shield fault in the zx will cause almost baffling test results and can be quite a battle to track down, shield faults generally causes feedback issues through all of the other sensors via the ecu as they use a common earth braid. Once identfied the fault was easy to clear by re-insulation the signal cable and also moving the shield braid clear of the cable, once done the throttle balance needed adjusting as did the base idle and resetting of the self learn, a test drive and log file showed all working again and hopefully for the owner a little less heavy on fuel. 18. No, although the engine would run cooler and so would the coolant going through the heater matrix the fan should still operate. Jeff TT
  19. Do you mean the fan is not running? try overriding the auto feature by pressing the high speed fan button, if it is not running there are two fuses in the drivers footwheel, there is also a drop resister unit that can fail, that is located behind the glove box. If however you mean the fan is running but not hot air it could be a problem with low water level or an issue with the matrix valve. Jeff TT
  20. Wondered why I was getting funny looks.!!!
  21. Hello Paul, long time eh? and yes we are still going and the good news is so is your zed! it returns here each year for service and MOT etc. As far as Ztech is concerned they are well gone despite a few reincarnations their poor rep could not be shaken off. Jeff TT
  22. Ok so is the speedo working? if it is that proves the speed sensor is ok, but points to the output from the speedo head not working, this is the point where all other speed related things get their signal from, usually means a new speedo head is required or if your lucky a bad connection or soldered joint on the board. Jeff TT
  23. A couple of pics this morning, nice winter scene the trees to the left look like Christmas card pics however the obvious footprints are mine but the ones going across the middle picture from left to right are small, not our lab either, so a fox maybe, followed them around the perimeter of our garden into the paddock and across to the hedge but then lost it, I bet burglars hate snow!! Jeff TT
  24. The autobox will not work correctly with no speed signal, the signal comes from the sensor in the gearbox via the speedo head unit. So if the speedo is working ok then the sensor is ok, its possible that the output from the speedo head is the issue, does the hicas light come on at all? or does the cruise control not work, it would make sense for the fault to nbe more widespread tha just the autobox unless of course the issue is with the ecu for the gearbox or the wiring to it. Be worth pulling the ecu for the gearbox and checking the connector and loom, if you jack up the rear wheels and secure safely then with an assistant you could run it in gear and check the signal cable at the gearbox ecu, will give you an indicator if the ecu is faulty or not.
