why dont you do it yourself at £2.99 a can of spray underseal you only need 3 at the most i have done my zed and my trans-am just dont spray bushes and exhaust or any electrical items...pretty straight forward...;)

try idle soleniod...clean it with carb cleaner or brake fluid...

dont understand how youve spent 2k in over 8.000 miles i have never had to spend any where near that and ive had mine for 19.000 miles....my zed seems cheap on maintance one of the best most reliable cars i have ever owned and i have owned more than 16 cars in 14 years thats due to being extreamly fussy....this zed is definatley value for money...

Dont know if its still available but i have just found a 300zx twinturbo in the adtrader going for £700ono as he has blown engine its black and is a 1990 on a G and is a Auto his number is 07092 441643 or lookup 300zx under http://www.adtrader.co.uk

could be dodgy tps or bad contacts on tps try cleaning....tps auto control unit uses tps sensor for power mode and may be getting a false signal...:)

i have bought a universal dual piller pod for my gauges and it does not fit too good does any one have a link where i can buy one that actually is designed for a 300z

mine is a clifford 500 and has remote start and a hks and clifford gave a certificate after fitting to prove it is cat1 thatchum approved....to which norwich union have verified my alarm is cat 1 even with my turbo timer and remote start.;)

i know that cheers i am a mechanic but have never worked on zeds we just do fords and vauxhauls...and most of them get detonation through dodgy crank sensors or need a decoke or timing on old cars....i thought these zed were supposed to automaticley avance and retard on detonation but apparently they do not detect detonation above 3000rpm which does not help.... i am running a jwt larger intercoolers and 1 bar of boost not too much id imagine and a have a new tim boost gauge...

mine dets at partial boost over 3000 rpm sometimes not all the time and some times only at full boost but not all the time and only dets at gears 3 and above could it be timing or something else??

i have just chipped my zed and raised boost and have been running on 95 for over a year..i do notice especialy when hot i still get det at high boost sometimes depending where i get my fuel . will using optimax or super really eliminate detonation???it works out alot more per tank!!

the first post also asks if it reduces detonation/pinking .....hopefully if its a tt you shouldnt get det/pinking at all or something is not right..:rolleyes:

Hi All i have been to silverlake autoparts today to see if any thing remained on the zed......? What i found was that you already know the manual box has been sold, Also the stainless exhaust has gone,it still has valour seats intact and all of the rest of the interior is still intact. it has bbs wheels all round with good tyres apprx 7 mm tread. the twinturbo engine is still for sale,the intercooler on the drivers side is shot,the rad looks o.k. it has new shocks and springs all round,still has diff and propshaft. brake calipers and disk are all intact. and all external panels are still up for grabs.... front bumper is damaged as well as o/s/f wing and o/s door is bent and o/s/r wing is damaged other than that most of every thing is still intact.... I have been told by Malcom the owner who i already have known for a number of years that its just been sitting there for a couple of months......
