  1. remove plenum today managed to not break any thing including any rubber hoses......still cant find water leak.....it leaks before it gets to the matrix hoses as no water comes out of them and water is pouring out of the bellhousing still ......?? i have plugged all other water lines and i cant see this leak???? is there a chance it is UNDER the Lower Intake????? Or would it be one off the core plugs as this leak started when my zed was hot after a long drive down the motorway......it pours out of the bellhousing like water out of a tap and thats without the engine running......and it looks like cam belt off time as the intake manifold looks like it has a cam belt idlier pulley bolted to it??

Might as well add a drain plug if your going to drop the pan anyway..... you can buy a kit to do or take it to a transmission specialist or just drill a 10"hole and weld a low profile nut the innerside of the pan of course you must have a matching bolt with copper or plastic washer to bolt into it. Bolt must be no longer than 10mm in threaded length.....ive done this many times to customers cars.........without a drain plug of course. :D

  4. They should be identical it doesnt matter whether its a tt or na the gearboxes are identical other than the tt one is built with stronger internals....
  5. Anyone ever popped one????and this is my first plenum removal which i got halfway through untill it rained heavy today.....

  7. what ever hose has gone its leaking through a drain hole in my gear box bell housing so ive started to pull my plenum as it seems strange and i cant see any visible leaks from behind the plenum......
  8. CHecked heater matrix hoses all fine .....still cant see where leak is coming from although from patch under car looks like rear of engine nearer passenger footwell????
  9. Just ordered a new rad cap from Nissan....and went home to check level of coolant/water remaning in zed after usage the previous day and had to top it up 2 gallons :( ???? Started engine and saw air bubbles rising in the top of the rad thinking Oh Poo!!! Dreaded head gasket or cracked head(s)......then noticed water level dropping fast right in front of my eyes so continued to fill another gallon or so then decided to have a look underneath my Zed and noticed water/coolant streaming out from underneath very fast!!!! so i turned off Zed and had i quick look but cant see where its coming from .Other than its at the middle back of the engine i havent had a chance to get underneath with all this rain today but any common places these zed can leak at the Back there?????? Cant see anything either side of the block from uptop?????

You may have problems draining from bottom of rad.....so you will have to remove bottom hose....my water was in same condition but when i came to drain the cooling system i losened the drainage tap at bottom of rad and nothing? so i completely removed tap and still nothing so i had to remove bottom hose to drain the cooling system in the end..... :rofl:
  11. yes ok but the cap could still be week by only a pound or two causing early pressure leakage....
  12. May have been an airlock......But drove today and not overheating gauge staying at halfway but still throwing out coolant out of expansion reservior.???
  13. If you read my post i did say id flushed the cooling system and the top pipe is hard when its hot and releasing pressure.....and as i said theres no leaks other than the coolant reservior spillling out onto the road.......
  14. My zed is overheating when you flooring hard mainly when you get over 70 mph.....it looses coolant from the bottle as well.... I have reciently flushed the cooling system as there was brown sludge in the water and no antifreeze as the previous owner couldnt be bothered to use it!!!. Refilled with 40% antifreeze / coolant still overheating......Radiator cap seems to be hissing and letting coolant back into bottle when very hot.....Auxillery fan on all the time after driving down motorway even while stationary..... Viscous fan locked on also after driving down motorway... No air bubbles in radiator while cap off and engine idleing.....No while smoke or drops of water coming from tailpipes....No leaking pipes..... I have only two conclusions 1>faulty radiator cap,2>clogged radiator????? Any other common ideas that these zeds suffer from.....Zed is fine when sat in traffic or driving lightly..... :shock: :shock: :shock:
  15. Got another pump was not the pump in the end !!!!! Plugs Are coked....Any ideas????
  16. No rust in tank and no visible dirt tank spotless......sock damaged on pump though??? :shock: :shock:
  17. Yes and i am renewing it but that does not account for metal in the fuel does it and theres nothing between the feuel pump and filter other than pipes correct me if im wrong so it must be the pump breaking up and is this common on zeds???? :confused: :confused:

  19. Hi James How did you get on with your Red Zed ????Have you managed to sort out an engine????? I am having lots of fun trying to sort out the blue Zed and getting nowhere!!! :)
  20. I think my fuel pump has gone as i got metal fragments in a sample of fuel i drained from the inlet end of the fuel filter? And the car only idles and doesnt have any power? Anyone else had the change there fuel pump on a Zed before and What was your symptoms??? :mac1:

I have just drained some fuel from the fuel feed to the filter from the pump and at the bottom of the container was this lovely glittery gathering of metal particals!!!!! so i think were looking at a fuel pump as i took it out to inspect the tank interior and the tank was clean????? Any one had a pump problem like this before or could correct me??? The ZED has only done 74,000 kilometers???

No this is definatley the injectors they get really noisy during the hesitation then go quiet when it picks up.......i have tried every test in the manual without consult and no luck no codes nothing no vacum leaks..???? idles perfectly but thats all and when the car hesitates also the fuel pump gets noisier then goes quiet again when it picks up......????
