  1. She's going into MOTMAX at Grantham, it's an MOT only place
  2. If you do decide to 'Do-It-Yourself' it is relatively straight forward. If you want it in leather one full cow hide will be more than enough (assuming you don't make too many mistakes ;) ) Carefully peel off the old tweed, once this is done you want to iron the old tweed flat (but you MUST place either brown paper or grease-proof paper on both side of the panels otherwise the glue stuck to the iron or board will not impress you other half!!!) If you have the time I'd recommend doing one panel at a time, so that you can tell exactly how it came off so you can place the new one in the correct location. My biggest tip! TAKE YOUR TIME! There is not one single panel that is easy, so study it, plan it and try it before you apply glue ;) There used to be a full guide, but alas it's now gone :( So I hope that is of use to you, and if you want any more info just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do for you.......... I've done it twice now, so I should be able to answer your questions :D
  3. Ca a 'n Ddedwydd Ben-blwydd ;)
  4. Thanks bud........... I suppose I'd better get off my arse and go and wash it, just to get rid of the cobwebs ;)
  5. Yay! Big HAPPY BIRTHDAY greets from me too bud :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: Have a good one
  6. Arrrrrrr right sorry, I was on the wrong wavelength here ;) In that case forget what I've already put up :D Just a couple of things to bear in mind...... For your insurance you must have a Cat 1 alarm. This must be backed up by an official, certified, fitment centers certificate. Any 'messsing' with the original fitment of this alarm (if noticeable) would invalidate an insurance claim, if you ever needed to make a claim. The above may be obvious ;) It may be possible to have an approved fitment center re-install it for you and supply a certificate for it. Or, probably, they'd want to fit one of their own. Sorry I can't really help you here Dave
  7. Yeah, but not your fingers :nono: I've fitted my own and was very pleased with the result, but had very sore fingers afterwards ;)
  8. Thia may be of use to you for the Sikura alarm >> http://carsservice.tripod.com/alarm.html Still looking for the Vecta Shadow info though
  9. Sorry, but that's not my department ;) I simply drive and look after the safety of our test site, we are a facilitator for other railway companies to use/test :D
  10. What make and model of alarm is it?
  11. Nope, not to the best of my knowledge they didn't. And the 99 brochure clearly shows the green one, but whether it has the chrome bezels I'm not sure about as the photo isn't that clear. Now they're are rumours that they may have done a red one, but that would then be the same as the green, which has all of the number/letter section filled in with colour and not just the outline, but I've never seen documented proof that the picture I've seen was of a genuine article ;)
  12. Well it's finally here, and......... it's as crap a download as the one on youtube, so I'm still on the lookout for a good quality version (or the original DVD, which is available)
  13. Hadn't see this link before, only the youtube link on here, not the download that this is! Andy, how the hell did you get it so fast, I'm only getting it at 37.3 KB/sec and I'm on an 8Mg connection
  14. Cheers mike , but I already have a bloody good idea what it will fail on ;) Bloody great hole in the sill return for one  Tell you what though, if she passes I'll probably faint in their reception :D
  15. Downloading it now, but at only 191Mb for an hour program, I'm not expecting it to be either big screen or top quality! Will post back when it's here..... about an hour and quarter.
  16. Well due to work commitments on Friday I had to cancel the MOT :( But managed to re-book it for Thursday morning instead :D So it's even closer now
  17. Quite right guys! NISSAN DID NOT make genuine '99 spec RED illuminated rear panels! FACT! The only OEM option EVER was GREEN, right up to the end.
  18. What? What's wrong with Boris? I think he's great :D I don't even have a bloody attic! ;) Why would I need one, I have a 13 mile full sized test track to 'play' on :D MUCH better ;)
  19. I can say who it was now, as it's just been on London Tonight, Boris Johnson!! ;)
  20. We had Richard Branson here back in '01, when we launched the Pendolino (Tilting train) for Virgin. Don't think we'll see him here again ;)
  21. As some of you know I work on a railway test track here in the Midlands, well we had a BBC film crew attending site yesterday, and this is the link to the BBC News page..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8114284.stm I was driving the train while this footage was taken  Someone else was there, but I don't think I'm currently allowed to say that, so I'll keep my gob shut for now ;) This is not the first film crew we've had here, in fact I (sort of) appear in a few TV railway commercials :D
  22. Having spoken to Scott today via PM, I'm more than happy with what's gone on. Although he has had problems with this whole issue, I'm sure he'll sort anyone out who wishes to buy parts from him. I would like it known that I withdraw my NO vote on here. Thank you to Brian for his imput, and especially to Scott for coming back here and trying to sort it out his end, well done bud and I wish you the best with selling the rest of the parts through this club. Dave
  23. Nice one Brian
