TBh i would just go for the 40GB one, then at least with the money you have left over you can buy a few games. Then trade in the PS2 + Games and buy a few more PS3 games. Once you have played on a PS3 he will not want anything to do with a PS2 ;)

The only thing that can really do that sort of damage to the laqure is Acetone which is deadly. It would leave like a white haze with streeks on the surface. as it will give it like a rubbery feel. It is ok'ish to use on the factory paint, not on a car that has had a repray as the paint isnt has hard :(

If any it would have to be the 22B, the rest just look the same with a little lip added which anyone can do.
