Green N Reg zed, A30 near Black Bushe aiport
Hi Nick, that was me - wondered why you gave me the thumbs up cos I hadn't done anything in particular to deserve it...! Well you asked on my "for sale" thread why you never see me around but now you have... unfortunately that was my last decent drive in it because I was just giving it a quick run before showing it to someone the next day, and now after 9 years it's gone... gutted...!! :-(.

Just paid my subscription...
Hi Chris, It's a Virgin One account (RBOS), the account name is ***. I think they do same-day transfers so it should have gone through on the 9th or 10th, I put ******* (or something like that) as the reference. Thanks, John

Hi James, Just wondering if your account has been upgraded yet, and if so did you have to do anything else to make it happen..? I've been waiting nearly 2 weeks but I've heard nothing so far... Cheers, John

front lights
Yes, definitely not a fault - my 1995 series 4 TT import does it, iirc it's called a kerb light and they're quite common in the USA (which is where the Z was aimed at...). Personally I think it's quite a nice touch!

North East Hampshire meet
Hi Nick, As we were gonna meet up anyway, I'd definitely be interested - and if it was in Fleet I could even walk there! (Oh hang on - doesn't that defeat the object??!!). Not sure yet if I can do that particular Sunday, but let's see if you get any more takers.... Cheers, John

Navy zed at minley roundabout hants
No, I'm actually in Fleet (not far from Elvetham Heath) but I do drive through HW frequently so maybe you've seen me. Don't think I've ever actually met another zed owner yet so would be quite interested in meeting up (but will have to be after xmas). You back on the road again yet?

Faulty tailgate sensor/switch ?
Thanks beermonster, but I don't think there is a plunger for the tailgate is there? In any case, I definitely can't reach it when I'm driving..!! ;) Cheers, John

Faulty tailgate sensor/switch ?
Hi folks, wonder if anyone can help with this little problem... When I first got my Zed I noticed the interior light (and sometimes the "door open" light on the dash) came on occasionally when going overa bump at high speed. I could also hear a relay or something clicking in the rear left wing so I assumed it was due to the tailgate. A quick search of this forum found a similar problem, and suggested I should adjust the tailgate latch for a tighter fit, which I did several times - each time making it worse! When I was adjusting the latch, I noticed that when all 3 bolts are loosened the clicking goes crazy when I just touch the single bolt (on the left as you look down into the boot), even if I don't seem to actually be moving anything (but not in response to wiggling any wires..). It all settles down again when I tighten the bolts up, but now the relay chatters away almost continuously in normal driving at anything over about 40 mph... so am I right in thinking it's a sensor or switch which is on the way out? I gather it's in the actual lock mechanism - is fixing it a job I should be able to do myself? (my car-fixing abilities are not brilliant but I'm prepared to have a go...). If so, then where exactly is the sensor/switch, how do I get it out and where can I get a new one? And finally, am I likely to bugger up my alarm in any way (even temporarily) if I don't get it sorted in one go ?? Or am I barking up the wrong tree completely? Any advice appreciated.... Cheers, John

350zx not impressed at all
..they've definitely copied bits from the cars you mention and probably a few others (and I can't stand the current fashion in headlight design - where did that start, was it the Ford Focus?). I preferred some of the previous 350 concepts, I thought one looked a bit more like a cross between an Aston Martin and a TT (which is a slightly better combination...!). At least the new one looks quite chunky and substantial, whereas the current Celica looks like it's made of tin-foil and would blow away in a moderate breeze.... However, surely we must all be pleased that they've kept the Z line going, 'cos it must help to maintain interest in the wonderful, original, sexy Z32? Cheers, John

Wow - 36 members & 6 guests online!
Cheers Stuart - yes, I hope to make it along to a meet or two at some point (not sure when though now that the wedding season has started...). I don't think I've actually met another Z enthusiast yet, it would be nice to compare notes... Pretty much everyone who's seen it say how much they like the colour, but I've hardly seen any other green ones even mentioned on here (plenty of "discussions" about the relative merits of red/black/silver though....!).

Wow - 36 members & 6 guests online!
Hi, I've just registered so I don't know if I show up as a member or a guest at the moment... but I would like to say a huge Thank You to all the kind folk here for all the invaluable help and advice available from this site. I've been lurking for a few months now and finally bought my first Zed about 6 or 7 weeks ago (a mere 6 years after I first decided I wanted one) and I still break out into a huge grin whenever I see it sitting on the drive! I'm no car expert, but because of this site (and a few other places) I was able to go Z-shopping armed with all sorts of useful info which made the whole experience far less traumatic than it might have been. So now I'm the proud owner of a late '95 (series 4) auto TT import in Cobalt Green Pearl - which unless I'm very much mistaken is the most popular colour of all... (not!). I'll post some piccies when I've stumped up the twenty quid (which will be sooner rather than later, as I've already had far more than my money's worth...). Cheers, John
