engine removal
I took my engine out a few weeks ago, TT Auto. Took the prop off to tilt the box to split from the engine and unbolted the torque converter which is very easy to do.

Starter Motor connections
Is the signal +ve or -ve?

what coolant feed pipe is this?
I would say it's 14056-NG, only the thicker top hose there is water, the other hose below is from the EGR. TBH it's only a 90° bend that connects to a metal pipe under the manifold, I would suggest a water bypass to eliminate all the other hoses as they might be going to or by a silicone 90° elbow rather than a stock one.

manifolds with the downpipe exaust. help...
If you mean the exhaust manifold and elbow that connects the turbo to the xhaust I think I have a pair.

Starter Motor connections
I'm trying to test the starter motor off a battery and can't get it to spin only engage. It was working before the engine came out so wan't to check the connections are correct. There is the wire with the connector coming off it and the connection the ring connector is bolted to, are there any other and which one is +ive and -ive?

Compression test
Thanks, didn't realise I could get just the bellhousing off. Thought it was whole box out or engine back in to get them together

Compression test
Gear box is still in car. Would mean getting the engine in and connecting it to the box and some of the wiring, also the engine is from a manual so would need to change the bits over. I was hoping there was a way to do it out of the car to save alot of work. I think if I did that to find bad compression I would :hurl:

Engine out
Can agree, took me 2 days. Good job I had a hand to do the last bit of lifting!! Got to get it back in now.

Compression test
Anyone know if it's possible to compression test an engine not in the car??? If it is possible how is it done, I have a tempoary engine to put in the car and want to make sure it's ok before I spend a few days doing it. I know I could take the heads off to check pistons/valves etc but as it's only tempoary I would rather not!

single turbo conversion....
Have a look at these http://www.z32power.com/69109221175932/site/default.asp http://s89053294.onlinehome.us/gallery/joel/

single turbo conversion....
Be an interesting set up on a V6 rather than the usual conversions on a straight 6. Single big turbo can give alot more power but can be a bit laggy if not done right. There are alot of site with a single conversions on a n/a but haven't found any for a TT, these might be good place to start.

300zx.co.uk-fest
I'd be up for it, can bring a 6mx3m tent from work which is a start? Or at least me and my car stay dry  Might be an idea to ask the REO's to post in the regional sections to gauge interest. It'll be good to meet up with some of forum obsessed (you know who you are) for some laughs.

Worn turbo???
Anybody able to answer this first question?

Silly Question
I think it is the torque converter and something to do with a shaft or splines.

Pay-pal
If they have sent the payment to the correct paypal address and they have the money in their account it is instant payment, no need to claim and will show on your transactions. If they don't have the money in their account it will show up as an echeque which can take upto 10 days to clear , you also should get an email to your email address telling you about it so don't send anything. If they have sent it to the wrong address they get an email saying the payment is waiting to be claimed, they can cancel the payment and send it to the correct address, ask them what their paypal says.

Worn turbo???
Second question- I've noticed some oil in the exhaust port of the turbo that were in the car with the knackered engine, is this normal or could it be due to the engine problem?

Worn turbo???
I have just taken out my engine which wouldn't run, found what's caused that - 1 melted piston+3 melted valves= a 2 cylinder V6 I have another engine to go and a choice of 4 turbos, the engine is going as a tempoary fix and I want to put the better tubs I have in with it while I rebuild to other 2 and the engine. How do I tell which ones are ok, I know that there needs to be as little play as possible in the shafts but is there anything else to look for?

Thanks to Tubz
Thanks to Tubz to who was round on Friday to help with the final stage of engine removal. As mgh297's post, it's great there are people in the club who are willing to help fellow members. :hyper: Only thing is now it's out I've found 3 cylinders with broken valves and 1 with a broken piston

Anyone able to confirm?

Usual engine out!
Exhausts off now, just wanted to check the prop, is it the join with the 4 bolts which was above where the centre sect exhaust joined the front section? Also I assume when the starter motor comes off I will see the 2 brackets which hold the bottom of the tranny onto the engine? Thanks
