  1. That's a deal for sure, i think i prolly owe you one............maybe two
  2. I'll bring him next time, he's a real character, i'm normally a larger dog fan but we've just not got the room with the kids so had to settle for little dog, big character. Seeing as you're a fan here's some pics:http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lazylob/MyDogBadgerSnifferSmythe
  3. ah prolly, 1 jack russell (mine) and a border terrier (catherine's) why what did they piddle on?
  4. He's bally soft i tell you Like your time line by the way, i was thinking of doing a similar one as everytime i close the drivers door sommat else falls off the car.
  5. A couple of weeks ago i posted on the advice and help forum to find a specialist in Leeds to help me with my very poorly sounding Z, as it turns out sadly there is no specialist nearer than Manchester which isn't too far unless you have a none runner. Anyway, somebody suggested Andy Duff a mobile guy based in Preston, he bobbed in to my work to see the car on his way to his Chicks ('FairladyZXsommat-or-other' - her car is filthy, take some water to it girl) in Rotherham, diagnosed it (EGR valve nacked, sommat like that anyway) it was declared safe to take to Rotherham where last week he did a sterling job of sorting it out, hooked up the diagnostics and found another easily fixed problem and did a couple of little mods while the plenum was off, it's back on the road better than before and i can't recommend Andy Duff more, the sooner he sets up a static unit in Leeds the better............ well for me anyway. So if you're up Norf with a poorly Z, give him a ring, he deserves the work. I used to belong to another car related forum and on it we had a catagory for recommended garages and repair specialists up and down the country split up into region, now i've been slated before for making a forum suggestion despite the fact it was in the 'forum suggestions' topic (work that one out) and i know this forum is already on the bloated side with it's many catagories and the last thing it needs is another one, however at the risk of a further slating i'm going to suggest it............
  6. Not noticed that tbh but to be fair i'd not done much motorway driving before fitting it but come to think of it, it would be better with a bit more resistance, i wonder if there's a way to adjust it?
  7. I got a converter box that has a 4 point fixing on the back of the dials from Z centre a chap there called Luke, very helpful, it coverts the Speedo from KPH to MPH. Makes the KPH speedo face read in MPH eg 60 KPH on speedo face will now read 60 MPH and likewise for 180 :) Removes the 112 MPH resricted top speed. Makes the Odometer start counting in miles. Removes the 60 MPH restricted cruise top speed (if cruise fitted). Comes with easy fitting instructions. "Made in England" using high quality components unlike the nasty low quality convertors from the far east. It hasn't buggered up the power steering, auto box or anything else for that matter (so far) you have to completely disasemble the pod but i'm very pleased with the result
  8. Took the old girl out for a good skoot yesterday, first proper chance i've had really since getting it as it's been having various mods and audio stuff fitted. On the way back home to Leeds from way up north i started to get a blowing noise, right from the engine bay underneath the nearside bank, no real noticable loss of power and no smoke so i'm hopeing it's not turbo or head gasket related although the tone of the pphhhuuuttt noise did at first make me think it was just blowing from one cylinder and could therefore be head gasket but either way i don't know the first thing about getting at it, as i'm sure i need a four post lift just to get under and find where it's coming from. Anyway the crux of my post is: - I need a specialist garage in Leeds if poss and wondered if anybody knew of one. I do have the good old Nissan garage but my experience of main dealers is that they only really have the experience to work on current models and are usually a bit steep on the labour costs. It does seem to drive ok so i guess i could go further than Leeds if need be. Thanks in advance for any help guys
