  1. I have now developed a miss fire aswell. could this be caused if i disconnect the incorrect cable??
  2. this is the same problem i have. are you using the stock gauge in the car or an after market 1 to read the boost. or is it built into the boost controller???
  3. thanks so far guys i got the speed power id working but still have problems with the boost. I believe I have disconnected the stock solenoids and have even piped these out aswell so i am running exactly as it says in the instructions. i seem to only ever boost to just over 9psi even if i set the boost controller to 100%. any idea's????
  4. hi, My friend has just fitted my Blitz SBC ID and power meter.:D but it is not working properly  Please help  The following are what we need if posible: 1. The power meter displays "calibration error" when you try to calibrate it, my friend is not sure he has connected it to the right cable from the ecu. does anyone know which cable/colour we shuld connect it to at the ecu?? 2.He has took the pipes off the stock boost solenoids but nothing else. does he need to disconnect the wiring from these and if so where do you do this? 3.Do the pipes from each turbo need to be the same length. will it make a difference if one side is longer before it reaches the t piece that the pipe comes off to go to the blitz solenoid. 4. finally:dance: does anyone have any susggestions for what settings to try (for example what gain should i set)? sorry this is so long but you can all :slap: me if i ever meet anyone from here. thanks, zedhot
  5. 8psi is the boost you are running as there is a balance bar between the two intakes to ensure boost is even to each side of the v engine. By the way the stock boost guage is not the most accurate. i think this is right! zedhot
  6. I have had the turbo's replaced due to a bearing going in the left bank turbo. I presumed this would also be the cause of the smoke but still appears to be about the same. The car has been run to ensure it is not just burning excess oil left in the exhaust from the previous turbo fault but no luck. I have not changed the pcv and being fairly new to the zed I have no idea where they are or what is involved in changing them. Would this cause quite heavy smoke and would it be affected by the turbo leaking oil through the rear seal before it was changed?? The smoke apears to be if you sit idling then when you pull away. Please help. The zed is starting to get very very expensive. spent £4250 buying the car and have spent nearly the almost £4500 on repairs in the 10 months I have owned the car. I still love it though Zedhot
  7. Hi, Anyone have any idea's what would cause quite a large amount of smoke from the left bank of the car. I have ruled out the turbo but am now stuck as it is quite bad!! Any Idea's?????????? Cheers Zedhot
  8. Hi Gibbon, Try taking a look at http://www.zcentre.co.uk at the body kits they have as they are all priced up on the site. Zedhot
  9. Hi, Does anyone no where I could source a replacement n/s exhaust manifold for a 1990 uk tt? Thanks, Zedhot
  10. For the compressor nissan want £770 pound and it takes about 4 weeks on back order from Japan. Pick up a 2nd hand one for under a ton. Belt is next to nothing. Fitting appears to be relatively simple (simple in Zed terms is still not a 2 minute job). Will probabley also need a new drier and the recharge. Not certain but think a drier is over £50 and the recharge could be anywhere from £50-£80 pounds. A very good tool for bargaining with as there is near a £1000 to get it sorted so check the rest of the car and then knock the price down and do it second hand!!! Zedhot

I use a polish called Mer that I find leaves the car with a deep shine and a supersmooth finish. The best thing's about it though are: 1. you don't have to dry the car before you apply it after washing the car. 2. You car apply it in direct sunlight and it doesn't bake itself on. 3. it is easy to remove even if you leave it on for hours. 4. Works well on glass. Try it and you will see what I mean. Here is a link so you can see what I mean. (It is available from Halfords) http://www.merproducts.com/carcare.htm Zedhot
  12. Check your local paper for computer fairs and go and have a look they sell ready built systems or all the components you need and are usually very cheap. Also unless you intend to copy DVD's there is no real point in getting a DVD writer just ensure you get a fast Cd writer. I also agree with earlier comments about getting an athlon and if you can afford it get the new Barton chip from athlon (celeron is just a cheap and cheerful oentium wannabe). DDR memory was really cheap recently and I picked up 512MB for £38 so this is a cheap upgrade if you can't get a system with plenty in. zedhot
  13. What boost would you recomend with the setup i am running? Zedhot
  14. I am also running a fast road rebuild box from SE Nissan to handle all that power i'm putting down. Zedhot.
  15. I am just about to have 2 hybrid turbos fitted and have a performance exhaust, air filter and JWE chip fitted. I am also going to be getting some iridium plugs very soon. I only want to run 17psi if I need to show another car what the zed is made of. Zedhot.
  16. Hi, Just took deliver of a Blitz SBC i-d and Power Meter i-d and am currently looking through the instructions and it says that the controller will not drop the boost pressure below the stock boost pressure. Does this mean that I cannot adjust the pressure below 14psi that my car is currently set to??? If this is the case is there anything I can do to allow me to adjust the boost pressure lower so I have more adjustment . I would ideally like to be able to take boost from 7psi or lower to about 17psi max. Zedhot
  17. Will I gain anything from changing from recircs to bov's other than the ever so lovely whoosh sound??? Zedhot
  18. Hi, Just been looking at Mac1's spec and notice he has dump valves. I didn't realise you could put dump valves on an automatic. If you can is there much modification required and what are the advantages and disadvantages if any?? Zedhot.
  19. Hi, Just spoke to Johnny at GPS who seems like a really genuine and friendly guy. We got onto the subject of the forum and Mac1. Is it true that he can beat Mac1?? and that Johnny has the best looking Zed??? Zedhot
  20. Please help. I need to find a garage to fit 2 new turbo's as the zed has chewed the left bank turbo up. I need somewhere local as the car is smoking badly and I have had to take it off the road. Not doing too well at present as I only had the box rebuilt a couple of months ago and now this. Thanks in advance. Zedhot
  21. But the ring gear can stop at any point not necessarly at the end of a stroke!!!!! Zedhot
  22. Thanks Smithy I will mail you once I get home from work. Still leaves the fitting. Any ideas in the midlands guys???
  23. Hi All, The turbo on the left bank of my zed appears to be dying very quickly(i believe the bearings have gone) and starting to smoke. The question is what turbos should I go for. I don't want to spend the earth but do want to upgrade from standard. The car is a uk model with performance exhaust, induction kit, boost upgrade and fast road rebuild auto gearbox. I don't want to have to modify the engine so need to know the maximum limits I should go to so I don't destroy the engine. Anyone know anywhere reliable in the midlands that I could get to fit them?? Thanks, Zedhot
  24. I live just around the corner from where this happened and I drive an identical 300 to the one involved. I spent a lot of time the day it appeared on the paper replying to friends who sent me messages thinking it was me. I actually drove past the police where they had blocked the road off at about 1am and had no idea what had happened. Having gone past the scene of the accident and studied the photo on the paper it appears the driver musthave been really pushing the car and lost control. I think he must have been doing near 100mhp due to the damage to the tree and the state of the car. The car was a real mess with no paasenger side left at all. I have a larger picture than the one on the link and I will post this monday when I am back at work and have access to the file.
  25. I recently had to have new rear tyres on my standard rims. I have gone for a make I have not previously heard of called "nexen". They have a really good directional tread but I have only just got them so do not know about their wear rate yet. I had to replace the tyres I got at the beginning of december as they were almost bold after only 3500miles. The shocking thing is that they were michellin pilot sport. There is not a problem with the setup as they wore perfectly even across the whole of the tread. The tyres have been sent back to michelin to investigate due to the rate they have worn. This maybe just an isolated incident but at £150 a tyre I would be dubious about going for michellins again on the z. I have also been told that pirelli's are quite soft so may not be a good option either. hope this helps!!!!
