Good to meet you Chris, loved your Z - really a good looking example. saw a couple of other Z's, a white one barrelling around and a maroon(ish) one. The fords twin drifting the mini-roundabout was pretty cool too.

Just a side note... A mate of mine bought an el-cheapo s/shifter from fleabay, and it snapped a while later leaving a spikey pointy metal death shifter. I plan to get one as well, but am not keen on ebaying too much after that! I think Fidanza do one for 55squid, anyone got any experience with one of these? Or have most people been alright with ebay sshifters?

Definately not wheel balancing, it feels like warped discs, although I have been told the calipers are prone to warping as well (on my version anway 1990). Anyone got more info on tension rods, how would I inspect them/test them?

Does the caliper recon help if the caliper is warped? I get a nasty vibration when braking a bit hard at high speed (50mph+), as far as im aware this is the calipers and not the discs..... anyone clarify this or suggest a 'budget' fix ?? No point spending a lot as I intend to upgrade the brakes in a few months anyway

Its a black 300zx with black ally's G reg. I normally park outside the tile shop (20odd meters to the left if facing ace cafe) if there is space there. Registering is only if you wish to park inside the cafe car park, and my cars interior is far too tatty right now to display!!!

I would have a Nissan called "BMW" or a Toyota called "Ford" etc etc, you get the picture.....Just to confuse the general public and irritate rival car manufacturers

My insurance was 3rd party only and cost around £1600 for 10months. I could not get insurance till I hit 21, at 20 it was a no no no no no no and an occasional "sure sir only £6000"

Carrozerria I think is an old top of the range Pioneer unit. My car came with one, its not a bad unit. Does the job well enough in my car. Assuming the guy who gave you the unit is genuine i would say its pretty decent of him to hand it over for free

I dont know explicitly whether it will or not. However Toyota are very good at using generic dimensions and so I am inclined to say its more than likely a direct bolt off - bolt on swap

To be honest from where I was standing I only saw him understeer (with feeble attempts to power over) and nearly scrape the back/side of a black car, couldnt tell what it was. A good few people made 'ooooooh' noises- It was pretty damned close. In fact, I remember one woman saying "I cant believe they dont crash into each other here" It was a silverish (?) R33 GTS if I remember correctly I was down in a black Z

I would love to see Z's at ace cafe. I was there for the last two jap nights (1st Tuesday of every month) and did not see a single 300zx!

Vaccum leak in a PVC pipe would do that hesitiant thing (not sure if 300zx's suffer from this?) Dirty air intake also causes hesitancy
