  1. Alan, what tube was only connected to the one turbo ? The tubes are t'ed off but I will have another look. also does anyone know if the boost controller itself (not the solenoid) is supposed to make funny high frequency clicking noises ??? Because mine does ! ? I might have a faulty boost controller. Lloyd
  2. Ok I found out the standard boost solenoids were still connected with the black square connectors so I've just disconnected those and the boost is now increasing and then dropping off at around 8.5PSI max but again it won't boost any higher. It is behaving differently now the black connectors have been disconnected. Do the little silver pipes (I think coming off the standard boost solenoids) need to be blocked off ? Lloyd
  3. Ok, yes those settings Giant Slayer gave were around the ones I've used. The thing just won't boost over 10.5 PSI though.... Is the controller supposed to make high frequency clicks when its boosting in the LO mode ? Lloyd
  4. Hello, I have just had a GReddy Profec B Spec II boost controller fitted to my motor by Z-Tech however it wasn't setup and I am now trying to get this sorted. I have read the instructions and understand (mostly) what each parameters varies. I have also used the recommended settings posted on here a while ago, the problem is however I cannot get anything above 10.5 PSI no matter what settings I use. Does anyone have any ideas as this is frustrating after spending big money on something that is currently useless. The car also has just had BOV's fitted. Lloyd
  5. Isn't it supposed to be 10-40w. Is it ok to go up on the hot number ? Guess the turbo seals will fare better.
  6. Does this adjustment only adjust the compression damping ?
  7. no just think the vanes direct the exhaust gases at the turbine blade further from the centre at low rpm (more efficient) then at the centre at high rpm (allowing high turbine speed) Someone needs to supply these as an aftermarket :)
  8. I read somewhere that a Skyline fitted with a single one was making 1.2 Bar pressure below 2000 revs ! With these you can go up in turbo size but not lose the bottom end so bad
  9. Materials have moved on now and they can make them reliable on petrol cars now. Just interesting to know.
  10. Does anyone know if Garrett or someone else make a Variable Vane Turbo for the 300ZX ? I think Garrett call them VNT's. Lloyd
  11. Back to original questions...
  12. Can you describe in detail the spec ? Why is it being sold ? Where was it rebuilt ? Lloyd
  13. Hello, My TT has let go, oil pressure has gone to zero and has been driven. The cylinders have been compression checked and they are all bad but one  What is usually involved in a engine rebuild ? Are the bores usually honed or rebored ? Are new pistons fitted (obviously if the block is rebored). What about other bits. Help would be greatly appreciated :) Cheers, Lloyd
  14. this could be better than I first thought, cheers
  15. Hello, Does anyone know how guys with the 300zx (TT preferably) will be affected by this ? Are older cars affected ? What are the CO2 emissions ? Lloyd
