Hello, I have just taken my Z to be mot'd and it has failed on bad emissions, After I let a mechanic have a quick look he told me that the most likely problem was the the cat was knackered. I belive that the car is running rich so is it possible that the car just needs a good service. If it is the cat, is it best to replace with orignal Nissan or is there a good after market one? Any info or ideas would be gratefully appreciated. thanx:cool:

yep its the fuse, finally found it thanx all

jap import right hand side i found the fuses no probs shame you have to be 2 ft small to get to them im 6ft and so everyone tells me a got a big head.lol thanx again for all the replies

confused.................. hahaha im going bald scratching my head i have removed all the fuses from the foot well (drivers side) tomorrow when its light i will refit all of them then try messing with the relays i wouldnt think its the relay as that would mean both of them r ****ed but the i could be messing with the wrong one................................

yes all those easily accessible fuses the relay i fitted is a new 1,high low

now im totally in the dark. i have no lights ,the only thing i have is full beam and rear brake lights. i have been waiting for a new relay ( dip , high) from nissan spain as i thought this would solve the problem. no , it didnt i have checked all the fuses that i can see and they all seem to be ok is there any thing hidden or is this a common fault,something a can fix on my own. this problem has been going on for about 2 months now (time waiting for nissan to finally get the right relay) so i really could do with some expert advice cheers in advance matt

oh and full beam is working

i have no side lights,no dip beam, no rear lights,no speedo lights i have hazards,brake, indicators,oil ,batt. all the bulbs are ok and looking at the fuses they seem to be ok aswell. i dont no about the relay as its sealed and at the mo cannot find a new one in this 3rd world country

thanx for the diagram, if the dim light relay in the engine bay is nackered would this effect the rear lights. i have brake lights but no normal lights, only high beam, also the speedo lights are out ??????????????

does any one have i drawing or foto of the small fuse box cover inside the car on the drivers side i have a jap import n/a manual and its all in japanese. funny that eh? my lights, front and rear have gone and also the clock lights and i dont know where to start thankyou matt

can someone please tell me what sort of power i should be getting out of my jap N/A, the car is running fine ,has a unknown aftermarket exhaust, air induction filter Apexi and it has the rev limiter removed , apart from that its standard i think, mph and bhp would be handy to know thanx :)

that didnt work every thing changed to spanish and then when i put the code in that u have to identify it wouldnt except it and ideas

i have a after market exhaust on my car . well the part after the cat .the make is some kind of jap thing with ProF as the make???? the thing is very noisey and as much as i like it , so do the spanish fuzz. :cool: Is there a quiet performance exhaust on the market preferably a complete thing so as i can get rid of the cat.? the z is a n\a fank koo

ok just dug out the invoice and its down as a aux air valve. so clean the throttle bodies instead?? thats what i thought i was doing b4. give it go tomorrow.....any tips and thanx for the help
