I think I've found (solved) a problem
This is exactly the same problem that I'm currently experiencing with mine; revs not dropping back to normal and very noticeable delay in changing up. Also, it can occur (intermittently) at any time during a journey. I was going to spend this weekend checking the electrical connections to the various sensors around the engine bay. How close is my finger? =============================================== I love my zed more than my girlfriend. There; I've said it. (Hope she doesn't see this post...) ===============================================

It's ok, it was a rental car. CDW should cover that http://news.sky.com/skynews/picture_gallery/picture_gallery/0,,70141-1254419-1,00.html

ipod help
Before you can copy a dvd onto your ipod, you first have to convert it to ipod (mpeg4 / .mp4 ) format. I use 'cucusoft', but their are a number of similar dvd-to-ipod converters available. Once the dvd is in mpeg4 format, you simply just use itunes to import and drag the file onto your docked ipod.

Vandals and last night
Ah yes, Penzance. An idyllic picturesque Cornish seaside resort full of old fishermen and happy holidaying families. Did somebody mention Pirates? To be truthful, this situation scares me. Because it that happened to me, and I managed to (heaven forbid) catch the ****ers, then I would probably drag one (albeit the smallest) back to my workshop where I would pop-rivet his eyelids together, ream-out his rectum and electroplate his gonads. I would them frog-march him to the nearest police station and promptly arrest myself. Sorted. Commiserations mate.

Why did nissan make the z so bloody heavy!
Yep, have to agree with duff man. From bitter/scarey experience, breeze blocks / thermalite /aircrete whatever you call them have a nasty habit of crumbling without warning. Excellent vertical compression strength, but the slightest lateral movement (e.g. car settling down) and its brown underpants time. But for a fireproof, well insulated car stand, you can't get better... =============================================== The whole world is a tuxedo and you are a pair of brown shoes. ===============================================

wont go over 125mph
Don't you just need to cut wire 29 (purple) at the EECU to disable the electronic limiter ? (best check with the experts before you go cutting wires though ... :D ) ===================================================== As you walk down the fairway of life, you must stop to smell the roses because you only get to play one round. =====================================================

What don't you like about your zed?
I can live with pretty much all of the failings of the zed. Sure, my car has a turning circle no better than a super tanker thats lost all rudder control. I was also told that it's standard practice to have a crop of mustard cress growing nicely on the stock rear spoiler at all times. And certainly, my stock brakes make for, lets us say, an 'interesting' driving experience... And damm right, if I want another wipe of the windshield, I don't want some jap-arsed wiper controller 'JK-flip-flop' logic telling me to have "another wipe to be sure to be sure" (Irish or what?) And yes, come to think of it, it would be nice to see the road on those nights when I can't rely on a full moon to keep me on the grey stuff. But yes; I can live with all these faults. But why oh why oh why does driving my beautiful zed make some women think that they can approach me for no-strings sex? Just because I am driving arguably one of the best looking cars ever created, surely that does'nt give women the right to throw themselves at me and demand the ride of their lifetime? Please Lord, let me have Fiat Multipla back....

Off with the old ...
They are off a 54 plate 350Z, and are in superb condition (virtually as new). I paid £700 including the Bridgestones. This is about the going rate (looking thru the 350z forums).

Off with the old ...
... and on with the 18-Inch 350Z Rays Before: And after: Needless to say, I'm pretty pleased with the overall result, and its bound to make my red Z even faster (if that's possible of course)... ================================================== Like a retired James Bond, the Z exudes an air of understated class. ==================================================

I Bought My First Z
Hi James I remember looking over that car (Paul James BMW garage yes?) when they had just got it in (it hadnt even been washed when I saw it). It was indeed very tidy. I only passed on it because I was particularly looking for a red one as they a generally considered faster... Hope you have great fun with it. Probably see you around the Sussex lanes no doubt. Dave

Is it true that red Zeds are slower?
Come on Andy, every schoolboy knows that RED is the fastest colour. Think back to your O Level Chemistry: Red pigment is composed (in part) from ferric oxide. I recognize Ferric oxid as Fe2 O3 or hematite ore. You probably know it as rust. It is actually one of the lightest pigments used in modern paint, so will weigh less than (in particular) silver. We're probably talking about a saving of 1.5mg on your zed, but that makes it ..... FASTER ! Here endeth your chemistry lesson for today.

rover25 good or bad
Have to agree. I bought a cheap Rover with the 1.4i K-Series engine for my daily drive, and it has held up really well, despite being driven really hard everyday. Nippy and economical. Dated styling maybe, but easy to work on, and cheap to maintain.

boost controller
Nick, I'm literally just up the road from you (Billingshurst) Having said that, I've had no experience of over-fuelling before so perhaps wont be of much help. However, I'm here if you need a second opinion or get stuck. Have you run any diags? I think a faulty oxygen sensor may cause this? (or more likely the connection to it). But of course, I could be talking *****cks. Dave

My Zed is dead
Ive been in your situation once or twice before, with previous cars Ive owned. Always a difficult call; whether to cut your losses or throw even more money at it. But in your case, if the cash really has dried up, then your hand is forced and you will have to resign yourself to selling a non-runner at the worst time of the year. You will take a hit. As has been said already, its always better to sell a car as a runner, and ideally in spring or summer. In hindsight, you will have probably wished you had begged/borrowed/stolen the money to get it fixed, and either kept it a little longer to get your investment back, or at least sold it for a reasonable (if thats not a contradition in 300zx terms!) price. Good luck with whichever decision you take.

Happy Birthday to Apollo32
Are yes, 30. I remember that age. Nissan had just launched their z31... Of course, what people don't tell you about getting older, is how refreshingly different it is to being a young and foolish tosser (I speak from experience). Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns! =============================================== As you walk down the fairway of life, you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round. ===============================================

350Z Rays Wheels
Nick, seeing your wheels has convinced me to go that route. They look really great. Can I ask what size tyres they are? 245/45/18's ??? ============================================================ Embrace the world!
