Headlights on = dim interior!
The clock dims to prevent 'dazzle'. The assumption being that if your headlights are on, its probably dark out and the display doesn't need to be so bright. :)

Wrongly registered jap spec zeds again
No sorry mate. I'm up near Wigan in Lancashire. Glad you like the colour though. Must admit, I fell for it straight away.

Wrongly registered jap spec zeds again
I also went to Ram to look at Zeds before I got mine. They were dogs!! I thought that if this was the standard at this price then I would have to forget my dream car. Noticed lately that they have dropped their prices by a couple of grand per car, but still dogs!!

Wrongly registered jap spec zeds again
Was this motor a fair deal? Maybe the guys who have had good experiences with dealers/importers could highlight them so any new buyer can avoid the junk merchants. My '95 j-spec came from SMC in Durham and they have always been 'honest and open' to me. (Don't do many Zeds though). :)

Jasma exhaust???
I've just tried it again, looks like it's searching just on the 'exhaust' bit of "jasmo exhaust":( :(

Jasma exhaust???
Do a search on yell.com. It brings up loads of dealers! :D

illiumination
Only the drivers up light on my 95 j-spec too. Always thought it odd, but seems pretty common judging by these replies. Still don't know if it's wrong though!

"fined"
I wouldn't advise it, a bloke got done for eating a Mars bar while driving few months back. Anyway, what about truck drivers with CB radios, taxi drivers with their radios etc, etc. "The law is an ass" :p :p :

Jasma exhaust???
Mine turned out to be a HKS Drager, but the Jasma plate was all I could see.

Rear Spoiler "skin"
Nix, what was your problem in the end? Good to hear it wasn't as serious as it once looked. :)

Rear Spoiler "skin"
I must admit I've always been interested in this look as I know my n/a j-spec would have looked like this originally. It's getting quite popular. A lot of pics on US sites have this clean style. (probably cos of all the j-spec imports around the world now!)

Titanium Key ( bent )
I took my key to the local key-cutter and he cut one no probs. He told me to make a note of the code number on the Nissan key as he could cut me a new key just from that, even if I'd lost the original !:) Handy to know I thought.

turbo stickers
Would it be a good idea to make these WWW stickers available to us normal [non flirty] types?:) Self promotion and all that.

Better than expected!
Oh, and a twin exit exhaust - mine's a single exit Kakimoto racing exhaust which sounds lovely (all 6 cyclinders into 1 pipe) but it makes the back look very unbalanced. Although it sounds so good I might actually just get a dummy pipe for the other side (shhhhhh!). I've got a HKS Drager 6-into-1 pipe on mine which I love the sound of too. I'd thought about putting a dummy pipe on the other side to balance the looks but thought I was being a plank!! Is this a viable (ie affordable) option? Has anyone out there done it?

keys???
All this knowledge of Gimps and oranges is rather worrying though. Is there a side to this forum that I don't know about?  Is that what happens at the southern meets? :D :D

keys???
That's not my spelling I hasten to add. I just cut 'n pasted it!

2) NEVER EVER try to pull a bird with a Zed as they'll rip you to peices!!! Never call a bird with a Zed a BIRD...............she's obviously got far more class than that !!!

Curious..............I've only got a silver key, but it won't open the boot

Insurance...
I went through all this pain a couple of months ago when I got my import Z. The cheapest quote I got was with AON at £478 (admittedly not with a London post code) It's a 'classic' cover so limits the mileage and I had to have a Cat 1 alarm - but unlike Tesco etc, no Tracker required.

Wiper arm removal
Apparently the trick is to lift the wiper arm up to 90 degrees, then push down. (remember to protect your Z though!)

Japanese Translation
Gio..... I didn't get any kind of manual with the car so I've got no idea what light means what. I havn't got any warning lights on (yet), but I wouldn't know what they meant if I had. "Forewarned is forearmed".....or something like that!
