Yeah good point Chris - except I use drive all the time (for moving :D...forwards :D:D ) However you get to know exactly when it'll change gear, and slight right foot movements can change the gear up/down 1/down2 when you want anyway. Pete

Yeah good point Nelson - sometimes a plate can be more memorable, you remember a single word instead of a series of numbers and letters. Obviously you've gotta actually be able to read it, which is where swirly italics shouldn't be allowed.

FACT! ;) I dont think its true that autos wont be redlined as much - as soon as you stomp on the gas, it throws you down upto 2 gears and redlines each if you keep the throttle open.

You've probably got bulbs missing or blown. I had a couple missing, got some from AndyZ Pete

You got a like a coolant leak from the sounds of it, see if you can see where it's coming from. The rev anomalies could be from air bubbles getting in the coolant system and affecting the the ECU temp sensor signal? This can cause stumbling revs when the throttle is pressed, and high revs at idle. Or a dodgy connection on the temperature sensor itself - can you hear a loud electrical fan noise from the engine bay? Pete

Give the dash a whack, I've heard that solving this problem before. Or you could have a problem with the sender or wiring... Pete
