Mechanic -York required for water leak to back of engine
Hi Guys, hoping someone might be able to help me, i now have water leak from the back of the engine, from the threads and what i can see looks like its that little one that is a tw@t to get to, although appears that it can be done with the engine in. Anyway no chance of me being able to do it on the drive, so Im looking for someone local to york that can tackle the job, ideally done it before because i guess it would easier second time round. Know anyone please let me know. many thanks Alan

Leaky roof from a pillar
Have now stripped the trim of the inside of the pillar and found pipe which all seems ok. Have blown down it and no resistance so think it might have perrished lower down hence spilling onto foot well. Anyone know where this pipe runs beyond the A pillar, have taken lower trim panel off below glove box no sign of it there. Should I be taking the wheel arch liner off and searching in there for it, Bl@@dy thing must be somewhere. Any help much appreciated on where to open up next.

Leaky roof from a pillar
Hi Guys looking to sort my leaky roof out, seems to be finding a way onto the floor from the a pillar, tested this with water straight down the drain hole which spilled onto the floor, have taken the carprt up and lower section of trim but cat find any drain tube that I expected to be there. Any ideas where I should start with fixing this, getting p!ssed off having to put cover over car when ever it looks like rain.

Knocking nearside front
Would like to get someone that knows what there doing to look over my ZX regarding creaking knocking noise from front and one or two other bits. Anyone know anyone in the york area?

Knocking nearside front
Just got the car (1993 TT Auto) out of hibernation and after fitting new battery is running very well, other than the knocking almost rattling noise that is now very noticable from the front nearside, might be worn bush or something similar first notice this last year. Car sailed through its MOT only a few hundred miles ago, noise seemes to be worse when first driving, no noise when under load or unloaded eg when cornering all is quiet, but on a straight that has uneven road surface knocks away like nobody business. Going to have to get it sorted now, any ideas where I should start. There seems to be a distinct lack of specialist around this area (york), anyone know any common failings that I should get checked out first or indeed any specialist that could sort it for me. PS need new radiator cap also if anyone has one.

Thanx for the advise guys, battery fooked I think, jumped it off fine from my aero. Battery charger obviously isnt able to tell when some off the cells are dead, might explain why z has been missing on one cyclinder now and again. New battery next week, dont think mine likes the winter weather much, role on summer. Cheers again guys

starting problem
Been keeping the car under cover over winter and running once or twice a month. Cant get it to crank this time, seems to engage starter and then stops straight away, lots of clicking and alarm/immobiliser keeps kicking in. Any ideas where I should start looking, battery is fully charged and connections are good, cant say I even know where the solonoid and starter are at the moment but guess im going find out pretty soon. Is there a way I can disconnect the alarm system to rule this out, any other way I can start car it is an auto so cant jump it off. Any help much appreciated did do a forum search but couldnt find anything useful.

Wintering
Surely if its left for more than a few months your likely to have issues with brakes seizing and the like. Im in a similar position dont think the mrs will be happy with me skiping the freezer and drier so will be wintering under cover, was planning on starting and running it down the road once a month or more. Was going to give car a good clean and wax before covering, leave handbrake off half a brick should do the job.

jap spec turbo guage
Think turbos ok just the guage has me foxed. though guage was supossed read -14 to +14, mine goes 7 to 7, is that the norm on jap guages?
-
jap spec turbo guage
Just noticed turbo gauge pressure on mine goes from -7 to +7, presume this is standard on the jap spec tts. It does goes 4/5 of the way accross so think its all working ok.

leaky targa's
Try some petroleum jelly on the rubbers apparently it expands the rubber very slightly but enough to give a watertight fit, worked great on mine.

Wheel alignment
Local ats, they have all the laser equpment just couldnt find the setings they thought that the settings would be different for the 4 wheel steer cars. Think they set it at +1 if that means anything. Will take it back with a print out of the maunal that has been kindly provided, hope that will sort it out. Any difference between the uk and import cars as far as tracking is concerned.

Electric fan
Cheers Clarkey, nowt wrong then hey. Didnt realise it was supposed to run all the time.
-
Electric fan
Its the main fan, just behind the main radiator thats running all the time, dont think it can be the engine running at the wrong temp because the fan is on when I start the car from cold. Sounds like it might be the sensor then although this looks fairly new, the fan shroud is missing so I think the previous owner has been looking into the problem and may have even bodged the job. Presume the sensors are cheap and easy to fix, may be I should get one fitted first to rule that out, someone on here selling them presumeably.
-
Electric fan
Hi Guys, wonder if you could help me out with a similar problem I have. The Fan runs all the time the engine does, guage seems ok it takes a little longer to get warm probably due to the fan, I have just replaced the radiator which was perished. I have tried removing the connector off the left hand sensor on the water pipe in front of the engine with the ignition on this didnt cause the fan to turn so i presume the sensor should be ok. Any other ideas what should I check next is it a problem having the fan running all the time?

Handling in the wet
Accelera tyres on the rear, Ive never heard of these and suspect they may be the problem. Think I need to tear the tread of them sharpish and get something decent on the back, may be a track day :D would do the trick. In order to explore worn hicas bushes and arms is this a diy job or do I need to get it to a specialist if so any ideas, Im in Noth Yorkshire.

Handling in the wet
With all the rain we been having lately Ive noticed the zx is a bit of a handfull, now I expected 300 bhp to the rear wheels to raise the pulse when pressing the loud pedal :xxx: , but I find the rear breaks away when not accelerating just cornering. The rear tends to drift when the fronts planted and no acceleration, is this the norm? Not sure if the HICAS is working properly although no warning lights, dare say rear tyres although very new are a very cheap make. Is there anything else I should be checking out?
