  1. I guess all imports have the same problem. The horn sounds like it should be on a milk float! Any ideas where to get one that sounds like it belongs in a Z?
  2. Thanks Andy. I'll havee a look tonight. Harry
  3. Just took the Z for its first MOT since I got it. They couldn't find the switch for the rear fogs. As I've never taken it out in the fog I had no idea either! It's a J-spec manual '93. Anyone know? Harry
  4. Yeh it was the battery! All okay now. Thanks.
  5. BLACK MANUAL IMPORT TTs ARE DEFINITELY THE BEST. MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE A MEET?????
  6. Thanks guys. After reading your replies I guess it could be the battery. I'll have a look this evening and let you know.
  7. Like most of us I only get the Z out during the winter months when the weather's nice and dry. In the UK that means very rarely. The last time was 2 weks ago. So yesterday the sun's out and it's dry. I head into the garage to bring the beast out, click the button on the Sigma to unlock the car. Beep and the car's open. I jump in, put the key in the ignition, turn it, all the lights come on and....... nothing. 2 or 3 seconds later and the alarm goes off. I go thru the whole process again and again and the same thing keeps happening. So I give up. This has not happened before. I'm pretty sure it's not the battery. Anyone got any idea what could be wrong????
  8. You're all so positive!!! I think I'll fly. No, I'll get a towbar and pull a trailer full of spares. That will look really cool!
  9. I'm off to Italy (Florence actually) for hols at the end of August. Thought I'd take the Z. I reckon on 2 days each way, so a couple of questions - 1. What route to take and where to stay for the overnight in each direction? 2. What bits on the Z might go snap that I could carry with me and what preparation would be important before going?
  10. How did I miss this? Must have been away! Are they still available? If so, how do I get them?
  11. At this time of year the Z rarely sees the outside of the garage. So with no rain and a dry road (almost), I decided to drive to work in the Z. Now from the house just west of Cambridge to the office in Newmarket it's 95% on the A14 dual carriageway, except where the A11 joins it where it becomes 3 lanes. I'm just tooling along in the outside lane of 2 at 75mph and this tosser in an Alfa GTV 3.0 comes rushing up my arse with full headlights and fogs on. As I'm overtaking a couple of trucks, it takes a while for me to clear into the inside lane. And all the time this prat is glued to my back bumper. To cut a long story short he rushes past as I'm barely out of his way and disappears up the road. I'm well pissed off! Half a mile up the road it's 3 lanes and virtually no traffic, just this GTV. Okay, I should know better BUT - loud pedal on and away we go! He's doing about 120 in the outside lane and now it's my turn - full beam and fogs!!! It's takes him up to about 135 before he bottles and moves over and disappear in the rear view mirror. My new year's present to the Z - one dead Alfa. I'm happy, the beast's happy!!!!
  12. Steve, I agree. Calgary is a real top spot. Only been twice, but we now have a customer there!!! Harry
  13. I can't access that page. Can you email some photos to me at harryhormone63@hotmail.com. Harry
  14. Wedgie! I'm in Cambridge. I'd be happy to take a look with you, You can even go there in my Z! What do ya say? Harry
  15. Darren, I've got to ask - where did you get "Buckaroo" from? Harry
  16. Is it sold yet? If not, got any photos?
  17. Cos mine's black and an import it's called "THE BEAST FROM THE EAST". Original, don't you think? As you can tell I've got fcuk all to do today except ask stupid questions. Sad really.
  18. DVD of Fawlty Towers Series 1 & 2. Brilliant - LMFAO Loads of Yves Rocher smellies from mummy. Anyone want a job lot of this stuff?
  19. I was in Haiphong - on the coast east of Hanoi with my Vietnamese girlfriend, who comes from there. I didn't see another white guy, which probably made it even more fun! In Japan I was working so no time to think about Z stuff. However I can really recommend Shisaibashi, the entertainment area of Osaka - mind blowing!! Starts slowly around midnight, finishes about 8 a.m. if you can stand the pace. All those lovely Japanese girls wanting to practice their English! Trips for 2003 as follows: Jan/Feb - Canada, USA, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia March - USA, Denmark (great place!), Germany April - home (boring!) May - Ireland (Dublin, fcuking brilliant!) June - home (resting!) Second half of the year - no idea yet, but it'll be fun!
  20. Just got back from Japan (Osaka) and Vietnam. Everybody in Japan was miserable, talking about having no money! Well, for fcuk's sake, if that's having no money we all need to be there. If you want to really see no money, go to Vietnam. Do they give a fcuk? No. Smiling faces everywhere. I don't mean to be sexist but, cos they all ride bikes, the girls have great figures. Definitely worth a visit, guys!!
  21. It's very strange! Why are all the over 50's Junior Members?

I'll have a yellow one - in about 10 years time when it's a decent price!
  23. I'm 50 and proud to be the owner of "The Black Beast", a '93 manual import in outstanding condition. How can you appreciate such a great machine in your 20's? What the fcuk are you going to have to look forward to in later life?? I've waited 10 years for this. Do I sound like a sad old git or what?!!! I hope so!
  24. From what I've heard Kumho are crap. If you want good medium priced tyres, I've got Fulda Extremos on with no problems at all. They've done 5K miles and have plenty of tread left. Hope that helps.
