Hi, I’m hopefully going to buy a 300zx that’s in amazing condition. I’m just after some reassurance regarding the rust issue. I have been reading some threads regarding the common rust on the rear and although this car has none it has me wondering. I know you only hear of the cars that have problems and no one ever posts, “my car has no rust”. Please someone reassure me that a well looked after Z will not end up rusting. Do these cars rust form the inside out, so a car can look great from the outside but be eating itself on the inside? This happened to a family members Trooper, we only found out about the rust when the mot guy put his hand through the inner rear arch!! We had had Susie over 16 years and she had had a hard life. Thanks for the help and hopefully be a fellow owner soon.

thanks for the help, I have been reading about the problem areas regarding rust and will probably be the first place I look when viewing a car. It seems clean examples don’t come up very often, I had thought of bringing one into the country myself, or through an agent. Is there an agent you guys and girls prefer?

Does anyonw know of or seen the car before? Seems a little expensive, but looks very clean. any opinions and thoughts welcome.

I’m looking in the near future for a manual tt, just trying to find as much information out as possible before the right one comes along. I have noticed some of them don’t come with leather, and wonder how universal the seat are to swop over between the models, does the seat belt move between s1 and 2 cause any problems or are the electrics different? Thanks for the info.

The J-spec brakes are dangerous. I have upgraded to the uk 4 pots on my supra. Its the t-bat and 6 cyclinder engine that interests me with the 300.

I used to have an mr2 turbo and I used to have an mr2 turbo and missed taking the roof off , also how easy it was to control and throw around, a very nimble car. I know the 300 is obviously larger but am i likely to get some of that pleasure back? Probably keep the car mostly standard, other then some breathing upgrades. Are the turbos ceramic on the 300 and what boost is it safe to run them on? (Sent fare too much with turbo problems on the supra)

Has anyone driven both a tt supra and 300 tell me how they compare in driving experience?

Thanks mate. At the prices you can pick these up for i can image there are allot of neglected examples where people have not realised how much it costs to maintain these cars. Anything you can suggest to look out for?

My T61 Supra is sadly for sale to pay off my debts of so i can move house. However i have to have a nice car and have always liked the 300. I have been slightly put off in the past by rumors of not so bullet proof reliability, and after seeing one for sale with large repair bills it has me thinking again. Is there any truth in these rumors? Any comments, Thanks
