  1. LOL spot on znut my Z needs a few bits of paint work.........matt black is becoming very tempting :tt2:
  2. tps checked and clean(except oil in grey block??? terminals all shiney) maf terminals all clean (got an apexi thing in there if that makes any difference) any explanation as to why hold mode being on sorts the issue? has been doing this for about 6 months now, day after heavy rain everytime for a few days, leave for a few 'dry' days and it rights itself like it has done today.
  3. think i may have rain water getting somewhere it shouldn't, car runs fine whenever its been dry for a few days(not often), day after a good downpour it doesn't want to shift up when it should (its a 91 jdm TT auto), it will run to 4-5k revs before shifting up and if you ease off the throttle revs drop, back on the throttle and its as if its in neutral. really is becoming a PITA, leaving it in 'hold' mode sorts it, but kinda spoils the point of having a zed, anyone got any ideas what it could be??? thanks in advance murf
  4. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=613_1232072712 ready to be shot down for a repost, but it made me chuckle:D
  5. spot on there, i just got a job starting next week:), been self-employed (following redundancy) for a year as i couldn't find anything and i've hated it, new job is quite a step back career wise, but it's a job. chin up to all the job hunters out there.
  6. bird, re the finally moving bit under your posts, have you ever had any luck with ya Z? i vaguely remember you getting it when i got my first n/a shed a couple of years ago, is this the same car??? mine died, had a year or so away from Z's then bought my TT, if it is the same car i admire your patience. murf
  7. if you intend on doing more than 20 mile blasts at a time, the R6 is meant to be uncomfortable..........awesome ride but uncomfy and hard riding unless you are caneing it. Would love the big bang R1 myself, but know i'm a little throttle happy at the best of times, thus the SV seems a winner for me right now.
  8. :hyper::hyper: pick up my new sv650sport in the morning :hyper::hyper: as you were murf
  9. mate has one of these....nice n sporty but a PITA if you're using it for anything other than a play thing, not a comfy bike at all. i'm toying with the idea of an SV650 sport (i need to behave myself, so this one makes sense) or maybe the Z750. hate making decisions!
  10. my bro has number 3..... oh the shame. it's the ssangyong cruise liner for those that can't be arsed to look
  11. 40p a mile....buy my Z, you'd just about break even
  12. mrs murf has broken the Z today:rant: have pulled off the scuttle panels and found a coupling in the middle bit(tech term) is broken, tried to bodge with cable ties then realised the scissor action of the system:headvswal have placed back together and seems to work ok???? i guess it's meant to have a pin/ bolt type thing going through the lot? question is will my wipers work for more than 2 seconds on a bumpy road and if not, has any one got one of the bits i need?
  13. :( saw a poorly Z in a friends recovery yard today, grey n/a (i think) k reg, nice wheels(the 2 that are still upright on the car that is;)) believe it belongs to a copper, thought of nick first til i saw the car
  14. because he can  my daughter does this kinda stuff, followed on after getting bored with gymnastics
  15. just noticed £5 + del, pick up anywhere for a fiver
  16. thats the stuff, good on all ya shiney bits
  17. gutted i missed this one today, but me and the Z are both a bit under the weather, Z seems to have a dodgy TPS and i got my nose broken last night playing ice hockey:mac1:(getting too old for all that really)looks like a good turn out though - next time i'll make it
  18. that was 1st one i tried, but didn't make a difference til i yanked the black one???? just been out and it started 1st time, quick spin without fault, i know it's only a matter of time til it plays up again
  19. Murf, could be somthing and nothing. The TPS, (throttle position sensor) does what it says, so if the ecu things the throttle is closed when its open it could esaily stall, or fail to start. Im sure if you have an ask around there will be peoepl who could lend you or sell you a replacement TPS sensor to try. Shouldnt be too much i dont think. When you say the engine has been erratic what do you mean? Reving on its own or hard to start or what? has been over revving on idle upto 2k rpm which is causing all kinds of weird and clunky gearchanges, another time it'll run just fine, played around with several plugs the other day and seemed to get some improvement when fiddling with the water temp sensor for the dash(black one) but surely this was just coincidental.
  20. engine has been eratic for 2 weeks now, had a cough and a splutter then died, wouldn't restart for 20 mins, sounded like fuel starvation, started up, got me home but won't start up again. diagnostic check recently has shown a tps fault, would this cause these issues???? how much will it cost for a new tps to be fitted and set up and any recommendations as to where i should get it done(will nissan rip me off) thanks in advance murf
  21. got a mate who has one of these as a project, will have the roof cut n shut too, and be rolling on air bags. but not the dodgy looking 'german' look tyres stretched on to rediculously wide wheels which seems so popular with the VW bunch at the mo'. (will also have subaru power)
  22. I've recently started up a home improvement company with a buddy following on from redundancy from a pharmaceutical co. it's early days but it's nice to no longer dread going to work
  23. 3rd flash was the long one - throttle sensor circuit, at least i know where to start now
  24. finally got round to doing gearbox diagnostics (which is longest on the 3rd flash - throttle sensor) and have now got the power light coming on when ignition is turned on then proceeds to flash 16 times (everytime) i assume this has some relevance, can anyone enlighten me???
  25. cheers dude!!!! guess what i'm gonna be upto this weekend:)
