Hey all

As you all knwo I got my car back last weekend. The first thing I have noticed apart from it being awesomely quick is a noise that sounds like something rubbing against the flywheel. I've got an RPS clutch and flywheel. Is it likely that the clucth is maybe not disengaging properly? It sounds like something brushing against something or could even be air moving?

Any ideas? Its fookin annoying and I'm really keen not to give it back to the theiving gits that have had it for so long but will do if they have stuffed up although it was doing the same before the gearbox was swapped so can't really blame them.

Or is the RPS supposed to slip and thats what I'm hearing? Its not a squeeling its like the flywheel is brushing against something.

;)

when does it happen? all the time, or only when in gear or when clutch is dipped? does it happen in neutral?

Sounds as though the clutch plate and cover has been changed but not the bearing, which usually sieze when left unused for some time. This should only do this when the clutch pedal is pressed. Sadly it does mean the box coming out again to fit a new one.

:( oh dear. well ive got a spare release bearing which is still in the wrapping you can have, just cover the postage :D

Have discovered that it only happens when the gear is improperly matched to the speed of the car what I call labouring the engine. also when off the gas I get a slight whining from the back I'm guessing its my diff.
