How do HID`s work in a UK Z with the sidelights...???

In my UK Z when the sidelights are on the headlight bulb is on very dim as a sidelight, then goes brighter when the headlights are switched on.

So, if i install a hid kit what will happen when i switch the sidelights on? Will the hid kit try to light up dim?

What can be done to rectify this problem as i dont want to cause damage and I want xenons

Thanks guys, Dan

Only on some UK cars (probably certain years). Some have fitted them without modification and not had any problems, but you can disable it.....there is info on here somewhere for it....but I cant find it now, Im sure somebody will be along with it

Dan at DTA provided me with some other leads for that, it works fine now, you are on about the dipped bit before you turn the key to 2 right?

On most UK Zeds with dip-dim there isn't enough power to ignite the HIDs when you're only running your side lights. The HIDs will only ignite when you turn the headlights to dip beam.

Murt - the leads I provided you with are specific to UK Zeds. These use a spade and bullet connector as opposed to two spade connectors in JDM Zeds.
