suggestion

when this new all singin all dancin forum is up and runnin, is there any chance we can make it so as we can just cut and paste piccies on the forum as opposed to farting about with typing dirty great long link type things which is far too much hassle for lazy tw@ts like me...

DOnt slate me for suggesting it i aint a software engineer and dont pretend to know anything about it but if its possible it would be nice.

If it can be done i'd be interested to know why and i would have learned something new.

yes, afaik craig is going to run vbulletin, in which case you can just attach a piccy to a post, very simple. Or if you want to link to something on the web, copy the URL, click the IMG button in the post and paste it in, there u go its done..

That would be quite complex to do that. Cos if you just paste an image, that means the forum software would than have to upload the file automatically to the site then put the link on. That is not that hard really.

Firstly you will have issues of the site having to access your hard-drive to upload the file. Personally I dont want any site taking files off my computer, plus firewalls and Windows protection will stop this from happening easliy.

Secondly, where would this file be uploaded to? If it goes to some temp director it will get too big.

Whats probably best is when you want to post a pic, instead of having to edit rides ect., there could be an upload part next to the username and password. So you can type in your post and put in the link(s) in the box next to the username of files click submit and its all done at once.
