Why?

 

I think its coz there is now no centre bearing and the prop now moves back and forth in and out of the gearbox spline so when itreaches the end of its length it hits the box or something.

 

Anyone else with a one piece prop have this noise i hope my prop isnt faulty or soemthing.

What does yours do?

anyways, went for a drive and its an improvement, but still a tiny bit jerky but thats the disadvantages of onepiece prop solid diff bushings subframe collars etc no give or flex in anything so it has to come out somewhere ie the diff

Jimmy I'm, gonna have to get you to test drive mine and you can tell me if its the diff or not.

where u live? u can drive i will listen ;) just need to jack up the rear and give the prop a good turn backwards and forwards and see if there is much play there

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh i dont wanna have to take out the bloody diff again and the bushings ggrrrrrr those things are fooking heavy. :(

LOL The diff weighs a tad more than that mate :).

I have a tomei racing diff in my shed but the internal clutch is slipping in it. Was thinking of getting it sorted and putting it on mine.

Was a piece of cake took me 2 hours, not bad i recon. :D i just let the old diff drop on its ass, it deserved it. Last time i took out the diff it dropped on my belly oops haha.
