My problem is that the engine runs at just over 1000rpm which is to high, when I press the clutch pedal in, the revs increase to 1500rpm then bounce around a little then creeps back down to just over 1000rpm and sometimes when I press the accelerator slightly the revs drop, this happens more when it is cold and damp, any suggestions?

I had this problem and i adjusted the Idle Control Valve a little and it helped but found that there is a sensor on the clutch (i think) which tells the Ecu when your in Neutral! This was broken so i my revs were always higher than they should have been as to stop the engine from stalling (As it thinks in im neutral)

Could have nothing to do with it all but i know mine was like that, sorted those out and had gone :) My descriptions maybe slightly incorrect aswell! Just adding my piece

Starting to get annoying now, I have done an ecu diagnistic test with no error codes, cleaned the throttle bodies and had a new wiring loom fitted, checked and cleaned the air flow metre connections, could I need a new maf or just adjust the tps or could it be 02 sensors, could a slight vacume leak be the cause? What is the most likly culprut.

did u use an actual conzult diagnose ?

i only ask as 02 sensor operation can be checked during conzult

although i dont think this sounds like 02 sensors ??

No mate, just the ecu test, I have a read up on how to test them using just the ecu, I will check the weekend, could their be another cause?

well im know mechanic soz but the ecu monitors signals from-

Engine coolant temp sensor - O2 Sensors - Mass Airflow Sensor - Knock Sensor - Fuel Temp Sensor - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor (93+) - Crank Angle Sensor - Throttle Position Sensor - Throttle valve switch for Soft/Hard Idle - Neutral Position Switch - Speed Sensor - Ignition Switch - A/C Switch - Battery

no errors is code 55 on a conzult

(there is a thread somwhere that explains the bleeps from just the ecu i forget the order though) hth
