Why would you want to? just make sure you always put the spare on the back.

Big Brake kit on the rear???

Use a big bolt on spacer?

I mean if its only to get you home

Now that is something I had never considered.

yep

ya learn something new every day;)

Exactly - I have big brakes all round.

really? I thought that could mess up your brake Bias as the rears were only responsible for 10-15%

Of course - I could be wrong. either way - no I dunno!

It might be that he's put a big brake kit on the rear aswell, but not to the same extent as the front?

6-pot fronts and 4 pot rears? Something like that or kept the originals and put bigger discs and caliper relocation brackets on!

if you upgrade the fronts only, you're upsetting that balance; by upgrading all round you maintain the balance and don't affect ABS... that said, i've done fronts only and not had problems with ABS kicking in.

Believe it or not that had crossed my mind, but a) it is only supposed to be installed one-way round and doesn't fit properly, b) I'm not that daft !

i was thinking about finding a 350z and swapping over all the brakes

is it that simple or is there anything else i need?

Yes, the rear hubs need modifying to fit the calipers. I've posted about it a number of times before, there will also be some pictures if you search.

I know that old zed has another spare alloy of the current alloys he has on his car

Yep, but it does take up boot space, that said it does give peace of mind.

I have the same problem. i would need a 19" spacesaver. is that possible:confused:

WHat about a can of tyre puncture stuff, if the tyre has gone most of the time it is not worth saving or can't be repaired?

either that or call out a tow truck

That's not always convenient, especially if you happen to be halfway to Le Mans ! I aways keep a can of TyreWeld in the car, but if the tyre is badly damaged it's no use.

When this topic comes up it always amazes me.People will spend shed loads of money on stainless steel hard pipes, chrome fuse box covers, HID kits, different boot spoiler, front panel, FMIC etc, etc, and a brake upgrade, but won't buy a wheel that can be used after the upgrade has been fitted. Usually any 18 inch alloy will fit over a big brake upgrade, albeit with a spacer, it does not have to match or be tip top but as long as the tyre is legal, you have piece of mind. Its a bit like going on a journey with no money / wallet in your pocket. Its asking for trouble and with Murphy's Law.........you get it. How many Zeds on here have been crashed and wheels damaged, leaving perhaps one or two that are serviceable, these odd wheels are only worth £25 or so. A cheap answer I say, that is what I did and luckily mine matches the originals and could be used on the front or rear safely.

Exactly, I've been trying to get hold of a spacesaver or a matching wheel for a while, now I'm starting to look for anything that will fit.
