Hi,

Finally got round to getting an MP3 player but having a problem with the music filenames and album details. On some albums, when I put the files onto the MP3 player it has different song names and album details. Just noticed it also does it when playing the files on my PC in media player or winamp. How can I change the details on the files so they're correct?

Cheers

Vijay

Having problem with the album artwork. Winamp will recognise it but Windows media doesn't and nor does my MP3 player, even though I've linked the jpeg.

hey up Vijay Ive got one of those Sandisk ones too - not quite an ipod but im very hapy with mine. i had the exact same problem - i dont bother with ID3 tags at all, i just name my music artist - track, like Goldie - Inner City Life its good enough for me. so when i came to upload some to my Sandisk i got loads of 'Unknown artist' and 'Thats what I call music 57' :xxx:

in the end i got hold of a piece of software called ID3 Renamer, which would automatically go through a directory you specified and set the ID3 tag to whatever you wanted depending on how you tell it your filename is made up. it also does the other way around and names the filename from the ID3 if you wanted it to.

very pleased i was while it was churning away, but when it came to uploading them, the Sandisk still called them useless names, even though when I check them in Windows they're the new version. i think this is cos i uploaded them directly to the player as opposed to 'syncing' them with windows media player. not tried it properly yet - got fed up with it,. worth a try tho i suppose

cheers bud I'll give them a try. Only wanted a small MP3 player for the car so no idea how it compares to an Ipod
