Hi,

I'm keen to learn the practical side of building engines, i have good basic skills. Helped my dad build a number of engines, just not one by myself:

I've got two questions:

- Is the VG30DETT too complicated engine to do my first solo?

- What was your first engine build, what would be a good cheap engine to rebuild before attempting the ZX?

Regards, Ste

do a z, just learn as much about it as possible and take your time, also take pictures of everything you do in case you get lost when putting it back together

Hi

Im about to do this in the very near future. Would it be possible to have a copy please.

Cheers here is my email anthonycull@aol.com

Ant

Ant give me a shout when you do and i'll give u a hand

Yeah just waiting for some space down at scott and bretts. Ill PM you my number.

Go for it mate, my Z was my first lift and re-build, you'll encounter many problems, but everyone on here will tell ya how to get round em piece of cake, they did with me. Take your time, keep your patience, and as the others said, label things, mark anything that could go back in a different position, take plenty of pictures, and plenty of research (looking at pics etc.)

You'll cream in your pants when ya start her back up after the work you've done (I did :-)

Have a good'n mate.... :-)

Lol, i've had a couple of days off and managed to get the box and prep out of a spare car - all ready to lift out! just waiting for a mate for a hand at the weekend.

I've got the idea of using this spare block, so it cuts down the on down time!!

Hows yours going? lol, the weathers rubbish here!!

i think im ready for the lift but need to borrow engine lift ,ive unbolted the box from the block but not split it yet im waiting for a nice weekend or just dry would be nice and then once out im going to replace all pipes that go to the bulk head and tubs,i also want to replace the intercooler for a fmic but ant got the funds yet and i dont know weather to do this later but ive still a little tweaking with my new front end mk 2 virsile or what ever there called.and not sure weather to bypass dett sensor or replace ?
