Wastegates

I am looking at buying a mechanical boost controller (Dawes). Firstly, does the Z have one or two wastegates and secondly, are mechanical boost controllers any good? At £40-£80 they are ceratinly cheap!

YES it does have 2 wastegates. No they aren't much good - you will end up with boost spikes etc. I presume this is just a bleed valve setup?

Cheers Andy,

Could you recommend a decent boost controller that won't break the bank? I'm not looking for something that can tell me 0-60 times, g-forces or anything fancy. Just want to improve boost!!

Basically any electronic solenoid type boost controller will do the job. You don't need to worry about there being 2 wastegates - just tee the 2 together. Try giving GPS a call on 01942671239 or if that fails, maybe try www.mvpmotorsports.com BUT BEWARE - if you do this you are not getting a product with a warranty - the warranty on goods like these is country specific so be warned wink.gif Not that they often go wrong mind wink.gif

Any decent controller will cost you around 250 squid an up. Messing with boost is something you dont want to really skimp on as the results will cost you far more.

Blitz id meter i think is thr best bet, but there are others aswell.

HKS

TRUST

BLITZ

ect list goes on.

the system you propse there is just a bleed valve and they are not very accurate ect as you cant control spike and they tend to let the boost drop of once its peaked.ie it wont hold the boost as well.
