Im looking for a 17 in laptop that ticks all the right boxes.

I bought a Acer Aspire with a 18.4 inch screen 2 weeks ago but had to take it back as it doent support english(im in Spain) becouse it was loaded with that stupid Home Premium:xxx:

I quite like the look of the Sony Viao range.Anybody got one?

Sonys are good until they go wrong, friends have had no problems with them until about 2 years later, when they have had Hard drives go, LCD connectors break etc, the newer range should be better, but remember you are paying for the brand!! No joke sony add something stupid ontop of there price because it is sony

MM thanks for the replys guys i did like the Acer but people put me off it by saying how crap they are.

Personally I would go for in this order:

 

HP - (Good laptops but you can get better bang for buck from other manufacturers prob one of the most reliable laptop makes out there)

Toshiba - (customer service is best i have experienced in UK with turn around if the laptop develops a fault with in less than a week)

 

Then Sony good laptops but overpriced for what you can get from other manufacturers. (ie HP & Toshiba)

 

Dell, Acer personally stay clear of these you will get nothing but hasel from these two in my experience and that is being in the IT industry for over 8 years now as a Pro.

I got a HP one, really please, nice big screen 17" 3 gig memory and 300 gog HD, was a bit pricey but got everything i need on it already.. no probs apart from the odd over heating when left on teh bed as the fan in on the bottom....

Ive got an Alienware M17X - was a little expensive :slap: but its pretty quick :D

Ive got a compaq presario had it for 2 years no problems so far only paid about £400 for it from currys.

 

Yeh i have one of these now but my son wants it for xmas:confused:

So i thought i would treat myself:)

Becouse i live in Spain (the tellys crap) i am on it all my spare time.So i want a big screen and hardrive for films etc.
