whats the best oil for a car with 147000 miles, it doesnt smoke and it actually runs fine but want to protect it even further

i usually use halfords oil, have done in al my cars and its been great, but its getting a little tappety now so want to try something different

always used castrol gtx myself. As already stated though if it aint doing any harm now it aint prob going to for further use either.
