Well after over 2 years waitng, saving, buying, shouting and sweating.I can finaly say theres light at the end of the tunnel:dance:

My engine is now finaly built and awaiting the final bits (next week)

After studying my options and loads of head scratching i decided to go all the way and go BIG.

With all the work and money i have spent on the car in the last 2 years i didnt want to put the engine back in only for 6 months down the line to take it out to change the turbos again.

So after speaking to Ian (Mac 1) and Peter (Nend) i decided on the Greddys.

Spec as follows.

Greddy TD05 18G turbos

Trust Wastegates

Pentroof style manifolds

Sard 850cc injectors

Border Fuel rail

Tomie 260 degree Cams

Tomie solid lifters

Tomie hardened springs

Tomie vernier cam sprockets

Cometic head gaskets

Wisco oversized pistons

Eagle rods

ACL white metal race bearings

Arp studs

Power enterprise Kevlar timing belt

Power enterprise Air filters x 2

Arc SM intercoolers (i think they are Arc)

Unorthadox Racing pully

AEM ECU

AEM Wideband sensors with EUGO gauges

And bits ive forgotten LOL

Then its time to put my new wheels on and run the bugger in LOL.

Wish me luck.

thats a nice build list, how many members run 850cc's?

One of the main reasons i went for 850cc's and TD05's is my AEM is allready set to that spec from when Kirbz had it and i was so worried about bore wash on start up it finaly swung me in favour of the Greddys.

  • Author
with an aem your setup will need some serious setting up, all that planned too?

Yeh the base map is allready there from when Kirbz had it so after the initial running in i will get it mapped properly.

If you can afford it mate, im happy for you, if you have any change at the end, give me a shout and ill come grovel :)

About £500 but its hard finding a AEM trained tunner.

Steve,

I've got the contact details of Europe's best AEM tuner. He travels around and does work in the UK. I'll sms you his details later.

Regards,

Dan

PS - am really glad to hear you got the last few bits sorted. Best of luck with getting it all together and run in.

any news?

The down pipes and wastegate pipes are being made as we speake and should be ready tommorrow.

Then they have to be posted and fitted and the engine put back in.So I would say another 2 weeks all being well.

  • Author
Im only down the road so can i have a spin :D

Yeh no probs.

Its the waiting thats killing me at the moment.

The pipes and every thing will be ready on Monday and fitted to a spare engine for fittment. Then hopefully shipped next week.

Then its all down to Andy Duff to put them on and get it running:D

After which it will be put on the back of a transporter and brought back to Wales for running in:dance:

The only other problem i have is transfering the money to Holland.

As i'm working in Spain i have faxed my bank the details of payment, and they told me to expect a call within 72 hours. When the call didnt come i phoned them to which they replied "what fax"?:xxx:

So i have to try again.

Anyone know of an alternative way of sending money?

Steve
