Looks like you will just have to take the plunge and by a set, I will be miffed if they turn out to be just as good as the MSP ones I have forked out for

From what i've heard from the people in the know there isn't a great deal of difference between the ebay manifolds and the £600 quid ones, obviously if you're trying to squeeze hundreds of bhp out then it's worth spending the extra but for something like ours the ebay ones are just as good.

I'm running ebay tubular headers and they sound brill, the performance gain over stock is good too

Are you talking about cast turbo manifolds or the NA manifolds?

I have them haven't really had a chance to test them yet as the cars in the bodyshop, they were a bit of a pain to fit as there is no gap for the dipstick so we had to modify it to fit

Ah you see i'm talking about the tubular na manifolds not the cast ones

An easy mod, only with the engine out, the Mike smith manifolds are meant to make a big improvement and if they are a direct copy then they should make a big improvement!

the add said Perfect fit for RHD..?? Thought they were the same on both LHD and RHD..

Was looking at these today.. Anyone care to share any more info?

Ive messaged the seller and asked a load of questions, im waiting for a reply.

We are talking about the turbo ones right?

Looks to me like they might be stock ones with just a smoothed internal, but i could be wrong, well i hope i am coz il buy some :D If they are stock manifolds which have been bored out and smoothed then these will be well worth the money.

They are apparantly MSP/AMS copies. I know somebody who has had both in their hands and said they were identical. He said cast flashings were a bit rough, but then so were the AMS versions.

Unfortunatly he fitted them before I got a chance to see them so I have not seen them in person, so only going on what I have been told.

Hmmm for £145 that does sound like a good deal. Im interesed in having a look myself, might be worth getting them re smoothed on the inside. I just cant justice paying $700 excluding delivery and duty for mike smiths.... the ams however are available for $495 on ams website but again that excludes delivery and duty.

They are all a lot cheaper than they used to be. The MSP's used to be $1100 , until AMS bought them out for $900 then they started having a bit of a price war.

The ebay jobbies are a real bargain if they are as good as they seem.

Just to let you know the NA ones are very different.

Interesting, if they are a good copy the only issue would be the strength which shouldn't be a problem if they are cast correctly?

Does anyone know if the manifold are the same for LHD and RHD?

It's the same engine so the fitment should be the same, right??

I cant think of a reason for them to be different.

There are issues with NA tubular manifolds but thats because they are much larger and get in the way of the steering shaft.

a few months later but.....

Has anyone tried and tested these yet?

yes, sumshiftyguy has them fitted to his newly built engine. So far he has noticed alot quicker spooling, but he does have the jwt530bb's installed, looking good so far.

Good times. Massive saving on the mike smith chaps

I still think the mike smiths will still have the edge but for the price you cant compare them. ebay all the way :D

Ams manifolds are available at $545 just now. Obviously need to add shipping and tax to that. Still reckon the ebay ones are the best bet?
