Hello,

I want to upgrade my frontbrakes. But I´m not sure if I should take a

330mm or a 345mm System (with the original calipers).

345 looks cool cause of the size, but do you think the original calipers look

to small, and the 330 are the better decision???

On the vid below you can see (at sec. 27) my rims with the orig. size drilled and slotted brembo discs, maybe it helps you for your opinion. Rims are 18".

And what would you say: Is it a real braking improvement? I´ve heared, the

Z´s braking is only worse because of the small discs, which aren´t able to

get the heat away...

Thanks in advance, Patrick

bigger brake discs are a definate improvement over standard, even better with a set of brembo's or similar, problem with big discs and stanard calipers is that pads wont cover full friction area of discs, you realy need to fit calipers to suit discs for the best gains.

I also think the 330s are the better solution...

I also ask myself how much of the disc-surface is covered by the orig.Nissan-calipers.

Would look quite shite if there lasts a rusty stripe on the inside of the discs surface

(if you understand my bad english)

Anyone here who made a 330 conversion with the original calipers?

Are the wilwood calipers better than the original? They also look like 4piston

(I also think about a wilwood 330, but in austria they aren´t allowed, and a "only disc conversion" is no problem, cause noone really knows Z32 here)

Talking about the kits on *bay...

Thanks, Patrick

Just bear in mind that when a big brake is fitted, that shite spare wheel will no longer be any good for the front.

Also you are covering less surface area of the pad with the bigger disc!

????

The contact area of the pads are surely the same, its just that the pads don't cover the full area of the larger discs missing the inner bits, but the improved braking comes from the leverage advantage (caliper being further out) and better cooling properties of the larger disc.

You are covering less surface area of the pad, the caliper is built on a smaller curve and some disc does not hit the pad, leaving the pad overhanging the disc, the bigger the disc the more pad overhangs.

Thanks,

quite interesting...

Now´s the question - how much of the discs surface is covered by the "big" pads, and

would it be enough to make the 345discs interesting again (as it is only a 15mm bigger).

Photos of a member, already using this kit, would be perfect...

But you´ve been a big help by now, thanks again!

The pad does not need to be bigger but closer to the centre of the wheel.

the bigger part of the pad is the part closer to centre of disc. they have made the pads wider to reach the normaly untouched part of the disc.
