Where does the wires from the tranny speed sensor end up?

Need to check if I get a signal trough the wires. Sensor itself seemed fine...

They go to the Speedo Dials first, then onto the Main ECU, and then to the PAS ECU.

They may go to the PAS ECU before the Main ECU, not too sure, but definatly the Speedometer first.

The speedo Dials works... It's the ecu that don't get a reading and because of that I get code 14. I've tried with a different ecu. Same thing.

So if the speedo works, where is the next place to look? PAS or main ecu. Also where is the PAS located?

The speedo wire yellow with green stripe is pin 53 on the ecu, so it follows on from the speedo. If you use a multimeter on continuity setting place one prong on the back of the dash (yellow/green) wire and the other prong of the multimeter to pin 53 on the ECU, if it beeps you have continuity and therefore can elininate that side of your possible problem.

Check the online manual for the electrical schematics, it will show where the signal travels.

Finally got around to check the speedo problem... I used a multimeter on the yellow/green wire from the ecu (pin 53)... The thing is that it didn't beep when I used the other prong of the multimeter on the yellow/green wire (outlined red in picture).... So I tested if I would get a sound on some other wire. And I did. On a blue/black wire. (outlined orange in picture):confused:

Can I just replace the Y/G wire with a new one to the ecu?

cant see why not

mine also has a speedo fault but speedo doesnt work and hicas lamp comes on so this would indicate a faulty sensor?

Si

You can do, trying to join the wire directly to the ecu plug will be a pain, so cut it back a few inches to make a join.
