Right where do i begin?

Having my engine now fully built and ready to go in we have hit a snag.

The Pentroof style manifolds wont take an internal wastegate:smash: as the acctuator is in the way on the drivers side.

So what i am thinking is.Sell these (Garrett GT28R with HKS acctuators and Leons custom built 5 stud down pipes)

And going for something bigger to accomidate these manifolds.

What are my options?

Thanks

Steve

Pretty sure the Greddy TD05 range use external wastegates, such as the 16G and 18G.

16G is a pretty decent turbo, old tech now, but capable of big numbers without too much lag.

That what CJ was running, highest recorded RWHP figure in the club. and Mac_1 is running the 18G which is kicking out even more power.

Personally i'd do it the other way around mate, for around 500 quid you could slap a pair of mike smith manifolds on and the turbo set up you have will go straight on, sell the pentroofs and have cash in your pocket. Unless of course you got another few grand to throw at the car for Greddy 16 or 18g's. Oh and of course the time. You could order from Z1 tonight have the manifolds up at duffers place by this Friday or next Monday and you have waited a very very long time mate ;)

Cheers Paul but my problem is solved.

As its only the drivers side thats tight a small modification is being carried out next week.So all is well:dance:

However if i didnt have a 10K tax bill coming in the next couple of weeks i would have probobly gone for the 18G set up:(

Ah well maybe next year.

Steve

Ive got the 16G's on mine so will soon be able to comment on their performance

LOl yeh i phoned him before and he said he thinks he found some in his workshop and will let me know tomorrow.:D

Steve maybe it would be a good idea to meet up when you are back home and you can see first hand what the car is capable of before you decide what route to take?

Take a neck brace though lol

I have to say I completely agree with the Mac said, Nend is your man, helped me out a lot for the parts I needed, a pleasure to deal with

Thanks Ian i realy appreciate your offer but i,m commited now

(or i should be) LOL.

All the parts are now sourced i just have to sort out the pipe work and decide where to fit the wideband sensors and map sensor.

And hope that the down pipes that Peter is making for me fit ok as he says with so many different exhaust set ups its dificult.

I only get home every 2/3 weeks and then its only for weekends.

Origanly i was only supposed to be in Spain for 2 months and now this will be my third xmas here:confused:

Thanks again.

mwwaaahaaa - nend is a star -its where all my bits and bobs came from

how many guys in the world could you ask for a set of wastegates or manifolds or pentroof turbos and he would say

" i'll have a look out the back - ooh here they are "

how big is his workshop??

Regards,

alex

p.s. we should start a competition

i bet if you phoned him up and said

" nend have you got a clipped GT28RS with an oversized compressor ..oh and can you make that 3 bolt "

he would have a look and still have it floating round his workshop somwhere

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Regards,

alex
