Castrol 0-40 fuly synthetic. Shall i use it or not?

Thats the only one (0-40) I could find from that brand.

Which one you reccomend. Until now I've been using 5-40 from another brand which i dont even remember its name and now i want to swap to Castrol.

I bought some of that but was told it's too thin. 10-60 is the one to use apparently mate.

Nissan actaully recommend 10-30.

Redline do a 10-30 fully synth.

But easier to get hold of are Mobil 1 15/50 or Castrol RS 10/60.

How about 10-40?

I used to use Redline 10/30 - 10/10 for that oil!

Just change it lots and lots and you'll be ok. Though I tried 0/40 and found it too thin.

..hang on a minute lads... I got a great idea..

Been using Castrol RS0-40 since I got my Z 2 years ago. Runs fine, doesnt smoke, leak or burn it.

Nissan service history showed Shell semi synth every 6k thru its life.

Now over 127k!

I change every 6k. If my neighbours BMW coupe computer says his full synth oil is past it at 18k then I'm reasonably happy to do 6K on full synth on my TT Z under similar road conditions.

I know lots recommend every 3K but IMHO unless you're on the track or stuck in the city permanently thats overkill and a 60 weight is a bit thick for the north of the country in winter.

10 / 60 is all I would use.

Castrol RS, Shell, or Millers CRX.

With Leigh on this one.

Cool

I am going to try 0-40 as well. Where i leave they have only Castrol 0-40 and 20-50 (but not synthetic). There is also Mobil-1 15-50.
