Thought i'd try selling the catts (scrap) I took off the Z a few months ago, I heard they where worth about £60 each about a month ago. Rang someone up and he said he'd pay £10 for each. Anyone know if they have dropped that much, or it he is just trying it on

Featured Replies

I've only ever heard of them being worth about £30 each.

However i've not met anyone willing to give me that much tho, lol.

There was something on the news about it, people where nicking them off cars (mainly 4x4) and selling them for scrap:)

the max they were worth was as already said, £30 each, but that was quite a few months ago. the price of scrap has dramatically dropped since then. steel has gone from around £220 to £80 a tonne. its affected a lot of companies who have paid high prices for it & now cant sell it. the reason you may have been offered £10 each would be to cover their own backs in case it drops even more. i could get you a current price on them if required, its only a phone call to a mate of mine.

we were getting £50 each cat til about amonth ago price then came down to £30 dont know what price is now though.

got £30 each for mine, they are classed as half cats

you were ripped of mate they are full cats , i got £40 for two zx cats with over half the innards missing.

half cats are what you get from exhaust companies as cheap replacement parts.

they were 50 qiud each, about 2 months ago.

i sold mine to the scrappys for 30 each.

went to about 3 scrappys, all told me the same - if came last week would have given 50 for each.

credit crunch ruined everything, nobodys buying new cars, scrap has fallen dramatically.

scrap prices have plummitted scrap cars were well over £100 and has now come down to £40
