Been suffering with bouts of insomnia for most of my life. Gotten worse as I’ve got older, probably as stress levels have gone up. I take sleeping pills but I'll still have 1/3d of the week without sleep.

I've developed tinnitus too over the past few years. That's nearly as frustrating as the long sleepless nights that I get used to.

Just wondering if anyone else suffers from it.

Wish I was one of those people that could just fall asleep anywhere, anytime etc. Even on good nights, it takes me a few hours to get to sleep.

Due to having to take a mate to hospital last night, I've actually now been up 36hrs and still can't sleep. Ran out of sleeping tablets!

got a bit of tinnitus in my right ear more like a drone then a high pitched noise. (like a single prop plane flying overhead)

i got hooked on any type of pills to help me sleep, i couldnt sleep unless id took something, its all in the mind, have learnt to stop thinking about things before i go to bed, but as a downside i now grind my teeth and tense my jaw, i have flat teeth and a jaw like a fookin elephants foot

I have the high pitched 'interference' type noise in both ears. I am wondering whether I am coming down with, or have had some kind of mild ear infection. It's gotten worse over the last week and my inner ear feels muffled.

I had a really bad ear infection about 6 years ago that was so bad it made me go deaf in both ears for a week. Violently sick as my balance was completely shot to hell. Horrid horrid couple of weeks that was.

There's a condition for that. I think it's called 'Bruxism' or something. Where you grind your teeth in your sleep.

I get problems if I use a mobile for long periods of time. It makes the ears 'sweat', clogs them up and gives me a headache. I have a handsfree kit in the Leon, so go and sit in that if I need to use the phone! LOL I'll book another appointment for next Friday if it doesn't get any better.

I guess I could buy some eardrops, no?

i tried that it may work for you but the ones that the docs prescribed for me sorted it in a couple of days

no ear drops with bad ears are a big no no unless prescribed, you dont know what the prob is so how do you know which tyoe to use, it could make it worse, get to the docs as soon as

Much stronger I'd guess. Only probs are, it's the weekend! I'd have to call out the emergency GP now. I am away on business next week.

dont you have a local 24 hour drop in center, we have one in sunderland and its great

the insomnia is prob caused by the bad ears as you prob worry about not being able to sleep cause of the noise in your ears and therfore dont sleep cause you worry about not being able to, thats why the tabs work as it makes you not think about it

I suffer from insomnia anyway though mate. This just makes it a little worse. I think there's a 24hr GP clinic at Weston Super Mare Clinic. I'll see how I feel tomorrow and if I feel like this, I might drive down there tomorrow night.

LOL! Strange you should say that as, unlike most people, alcohol actually makes sleep EVEN worse for me. To the point where I rarely drink anymore. My system's going to take a battering next week as Jimmer and I are off out with Glenn in Cardiff! Not been out for AGES!

LOL. I don't think I've ever been to Sunderland. I could make a trip up there one day I guess. :)

will get the tent aired out for ya lol, more than welcome anytime bud, fook ae had 7 cans tonite and didnt start drinking till 8pm

On a good night I might sleep 4 hours without interruption, usually less than 3. Not sure I'm an insomniac, I just don't sleep much, at least not until after the alarm has gone off. Problem is I usually feel dreadful for about 12 hours a day. Drinking helps me pass out, but not sleep.

best night sleep i ever have is when im really nackered from either football training or a really long run, also used to suffer from long sleepless nights when was suffering from stress from my job, ive since learnt to **** off work as soon as i walk out the door at 5.30, try to relax when your in bed, really concventrate on relaxing all the muscles in your body all at once, helps me to swich off, may or may not help, just helps me to get into the correct frame of mind when im ready to sleep. seem to forget everthing else, HTH
