Hi Guys, I consider myself to have a healthy example of a TT auto, but I notice on the buyers guide that it says the engine should be completely smooth with not the slightest vibration.

My engine runs very well, is fully serviced by a specialist. I don't have any problems. But at warm idle there is the slightest vibration to be felt thru the car.

One member on here said if you could feel a vibration on the door sill something wasn't quite right!

I have Datascan now, I have turned each cylinder off in turn, there is no noticeable difference in power balance.

I've got a funny feeling that this slight vibration is normal and nothing to worry about, but when you read things like this it gets you wondering!

What are your cars like at warm idle??

Thoughts Guys, many thanks.

One persons interpretation of smooth or vibration is going to be different from another. If the engine is running smooth then its likely to be an engine mount, quite common for them to be torn.

I have a feeling I wrote that. No engine is completely smooth, but there is a noticable difference between running on 5 and 6 cylinders, which is quite obvious when touching the door sill.

I'd say it depends on Mod's too, might just be my imagination but my car vibrates more with a straight through exhaust than my old Mongoose on tickover! But the engine is solid, definately no movement / vibration
