My mirrors auto fold in when I turn the ignition off, and I noticed today on the way back to the MOT testing station that they are heated too....

I have owned 5 Z32's in my time - and none of them had heated auto folding mirrors!

Anyone else got them or is my zed unique?

im sure iv'e heard someone mention this before ? but cant remember where ?

i have to press the button to fold mine in and i dont think there heated:(

I didn't realise any auto folded with ignition off, they can be made to do it with an alarm. Maybe someone has had a fiddle !

I might have agreed with you, but since they are heated too.. I reckon it is a factory option, someone did spend a lot on the options for my car (airbag, cruise, electric passenger seat).

I think s2/s3 onwards are all heated. Indeed the rest of the spec you mentioned is typical for a series 2/3. But none are auto folding, sounds like somebody has modified it for auto folding with ignition off.

My series 4 mirrors aren't heated. Must have been an option (like most things were by then LOL).

I think mine has heated mirrors, but it's been a long time since I had to take one apart. I was going to get the auto fold fixed into the alarm (along with full closure) but that's another job I never got around to finishing !

Is it possible to connect S2 one up to S1 wiring easily? I'd like heated mirrors. And how to get the mirrors to fold in automatically?

An S1 may not have the wiring in the loom for the S2 heaters, so that could be a challenge. Getting the auto fold to work is not such a big deal, it could be done on ignition switch or through an alarm, but a few minutes thought and some wiring would be involved. Any decent alarm installer should be able to do it for you.

Right, just opened up a few mirrors and this is what I've found:

3 wires - electric

5 wires - electric/fold

5 wires (which 2 are black) - electric/heated

7 wires - electric/fold/heated

And looking at the switch for folding mirrors, it has 3 options which I guess must be open/fold/fold on ignition off.

Vijay

this is only a guess !

But if u have a clifford cat 1 or toad couldn't it be linked to one of the output modes? i know mine has 2 one for the boot and one that's not being used !

if this is poss u could switch off, arm car and then press a button for mirror's to fold surely?:D

My mirror switch has 3 positions - open (rocker switch forward), close (rocker switch back) and the third doesn't seem to do anything (rocker switch in middle)
